Aston Villa confirm Nicolò Zaniolo signing on initial loan deal

This evening, Aston Villa announced the loan signing of Nicolò Zaniolo on an initial loan deal with an option to buy from Galatasaray.

The Turkish giants have stated a ‘conditional compulsory purchase option’ between the two clubs with Villa paying an initial £4.29 million for the loan deal with a conditional bonus worth a maximum of £1.2 million.

Should the deal be made permanent, Villa would then pay £19.3 million with a further £13.3 million in add-ons. Galatasary will also get 10% of any profits made on Zaniolo should Villa cash in on the Italian in the future.

Zaniolo began his career in Italy with Genoa and had spells with Fiorentina, Virtus Entella, and Inter Milan and eventually made his breakthrough with Roma in 2018. He was part of the side that won the Uefa Conference League in 2022.

Following two long-term ACL injuries he moved to Turkey in a deal said to be worth £13 million where he helped Galatasary win the Süper Lig.
