Dimitri, you got your dream draw, Linfield in the next round of the Champs Lge if they beat a team from San Marino, in the previous round which they should. Give them a spanking please!

CELTIC chiefs have agreed in principle to play in Belfast on July 11.

Hoops representatives have been in discussions with Linfield chairman Roy McGivern in Nyon after the clubs were drawn to face each other in a potential money-spinning Champions League Second Qualifying round – if the Blues see off San Marino’s La Fiorita.

ish Premiership champions Linfield were drawn to play the home leg first on July 11/12 but due to the traditional Orange Order marches in Northern Ireland on July 12, that day has been ruled out.

Keep up to date with ALL the latest news, transfers and goals from Scottish football plus fixtures, results and live match commentary

Both clubs are happy not to switch the ties and discussions about how to manage what would be a mouth-watering tie are now ongoing with the Police Service of Northern Ireland
“From a football point of view it is fantastic,” said Blues chairman McGivern.

“I had lunch with Celtic’s representatives after the draw and we’ve had initial discussions about the games.

“Obviously we have a two-legged tie against La Fiorita first and we won’t get ahead of ourselves, but with the second qualifying round so soon after, it is vital be start thinking about arrangements now for a potential blockbuster tie.

“We’ve also had a chat with UEFA and we had ruled out July 12 for obvious reasons, purely from a practical point of view.

“Our preference is to play the home leg first, for financial reasons that’s obvious the best thing for us.

“At this stage the first-leg would be on July 11, potentially with an early kick-off but there are discussions going on at home now with the PSNI to see how that would be managed.

“That is the preferred option at the moment but there have been no discussions about switching the games at all.

“Celtic are relaxed about it and they seem happy enough to play in Belfast on July 11.

“And I’m sure we’ll be able to bring a big crowd to Glasgow, which would be a trip of a lifetime for our fans, just as it was for Cliftonville a few years ago.

“Before that, we play La Fiorita at home next Wednesday and away the following week and that is the priority now.”
