To be perfectly honest, I'm not bothered if all of the French players leave. I dont think they have the heart to help Villa get out of the Championship. We need players who are already in that league who want to step up to a bigger club. We may be rubbish at the moment but we still have the name Aston Villa and that means alot. With the possibility of new owners and a new manager (preferably Pearson) and new players with heart, next season is going to be really exciting. UTV

I'm not sure he has been a failure. Started to look really good under Garde but Black won't play him preferring the mercenaries for whatever reason.

Personally I feel he is someone we should keep and not loan to Bournemouth as it would be no benefit at all to us. A midfield of Gardner, Vertout and Joey Barton (Barton was on Talksport recently and said he has not yet signed the one year transfer extension on the table at Burnley) could do well in the Chumpianship

And most of that £25m to build Leicester was spent by Pearson .

point of note on Pearson as you questioned  why he was sacked by Leicester - the official word was breakdown in his relationship with the board and Ranieri confirmed today he was told his objective this season was to keep Leicester up , so it would seem clear Pearson was sacked not on results but for off the pitch reasons.

Which equally is reason enough not to employ him as no other clubs have done since his sacking at Leicester.

Raneri hasn't done too bad has he so I guess the board at Leicester would feel vindicated in their decision.

Disagree. Our best players this season have been the French contingent. It has been the so called experienced players that have let us down coupled with poor managers.

If we are able to keep the French players while replacing the likes of Hutton, Lescott, Richards, Gabby, Westwood, Bacuna, Guzan, N'Zogbia, with players who have a better mentality then we'll have enough to get us back up again to include the right choice as manager.

I agree with this.

Veretout is only young. He is the kind of player who will thrive at other clubs Imo, eg Bournemouth and stoke.

This whole season has been a shambles for us. Gary gardners tweet summed it up. Many of our players (gabby, lescott) did not have that work ethic, and that would have been reflected through the whole team. Veretout would never thrive in these conditions. He would be a useful player if given a run of games in a stable team with a good work ethic like Bournemouth.

Vertout needs to have players in front of him with good movement to allow him to make those defence splitting passes. We have seen glimpses of that already but not enough since we generally had traffic cones as forwards (Gestede & Gabby). Ayew has that movement so I could never figure out why Ayew wasn't played more centrally with Vertout in the number 10 role? Maybe that may come to fruition with a good manager in charge who knows his arse from his elbow unless they are to be sold?

Yeah, I think he'd be better in the championship and could definitely be more creative, making those passes. Maybe the prem was a bit too much for him, especially thrown into the lions den.

We've got a few decent players potentially for the championship - Gestede, Ayew, Gana, Veretout, Gardner, Clark, Amavi, if we can keep hold of them. Next we need to clear lerner, and mercenaries, bring in a manager, to create a positive, winning attitude and work ethic in the dressing room and we can have a solid team pushing for playoffs.

We'll have to agree to disagree Morph. I don't consider the experienced players to be that experienced. I do agree about the managers though.
