I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine. It’s been well documented that Aston Villa and Everton are one of the two clubs with PSR issues that need sorting before the end of June and these two deals highlight just that. Is it wrong? Nope. It is all legal and within the rules.
Aston Villa has this afternoon completed the signing of Everton winger Lewis Dobin for a fee believed to be worth around £9 million.
The winger scored his first Premier League goal in December and was a regular feature on the bench at Goodison Park throughout the season. He made a total of 12 appearances for Everton last year.
The season before he spent on loan at Derby County where he has 7 goal contributions in 43 league appearances in League 1.
Everton sign Iroegbunam
Everton announced the signing of Tim Iroegbunam for a fee in the region of £9 million yesterday afternoon. The midfielder has been at Villa since 2021 when he joined from the West Bromwich Albion Academy.
Iroegbunam made 15 appearances for Villa in all competitions last year and has signed a three-year deal with the Toffees.
Sean Dyche expressed his delight at the signing stating: “We’re pleased to add Tim to our midfield options, he is a young player who is still learning and developing but clearly has a lot of the qualities we want in that area of the pitch.”
Iroegbunam thanked Aston Villa for his time at the club on his Instagram: “After an amazing 3 years at Aston Villa, it is time to say goodbye. I have so much to thank everyone at this club for — from making my Premier League debut to playing in Europe. It has truly been amazing. Everyone involved in this journey has been so good to me & I won’t forget it. It was an honour to call myself a Villan. To my teammates, coaches & to you fans — you will all be missed! Lots of love, Tim Iroegbunam.”
