There has been plenty of ups on the field at Villa Park this season but off it hasn’t been as rosy. Since the departure of Christian Purslow and the appointment of Chris Heck Villa fans have been left upset by rising ticket prices, the shirt sponsor and the new corporate areas within the Holte End.
Tonight, an image surfaced from the Aston Villa trademark page on the Intellectual Property Office website where Aston Villa have submitted what looks likely to be their new page.
You only have to look at the multiple social media platforms to see the views of Aston Villa fans with some asking why we have wasted money on a poorer version of our original recent badge. Others asking why the badge, which was voted for by fans last season will be cast to one side at the end of the current campaign.
Members of the Aston Villa Fans Advisory Board have recently contacted the Football Association to express their concerns as the club hasn’t carried out sufficient consultation.
The round badge which can be found on this year’s kit was voted for by 22,000 supporters in 2022 but only 16,000 fans got involved in the voting for this badge as many believed it had become a farce.
It’s such a shame that when Villa have an opportunity to do something great on the field, those off the field are causing such a divide within the club.

I have come away from Villa Park disappointed on so many occasions in recent years it’s such a shame that now finally the performances are so much better that I feel disappointed before arriving.
The holte end is for fans, not hosting corporate hospitality. Instead of messing up the areas now known as lower grounds and terrace view the management needed to concentrate on improving the service of the existing facilities, fan satisfaction as well as profits would have considerably improved.
I’m sure most Villa fans were dreading the pain of having one end of the ground closed but in order to maintain our status as one of the best football grounds in the premier league the North stand has to go. The plans developed over a period of time at great cost no doubt looked visionary and in keeping with our iconic stadium.
Finally I’ll end my rant by saying we made a change of badge last year, the fans got what they wanted, a round badge so why is it being changed again? It seems changes are being made by people who do not understand football culture, the tradition of the club or Villa fans .
If this is genuine then Aston Villa need to find a new graphic artist. It is an old and outdated design and furthermore the lion is facing the wrong way. It’s looking backwards not forwards. This is a very basic design error. The lion rampant and forward in the circular field should be maintained. The European cup star should be place outside and above the circle.
If this badge is allowed by the owners,I will give up my season ticket, get Heck out of our club,we are a British team not yanks
It had been muted that we would have an unframed Lion with either AV or Aston Villa over it and 1874 underneath, which would i have been quite happy with. Frankly this shield is just ordinary, as was the change to the round badge. Could we not have a more varied choice with 3 or 4 diverse and preferably stunning designs. If this is it, it will have been foisted upon us
If this is the new badge, well I think it’s a step back,
The round badge has a certain class look about it.
Won’t be bying any new replica shirts if this is the badge that’s on the front.
There’s more than 16-22,000 supporters! Leaflets should of been given to all supporters at Villa Park perhaps put on the seats & left at reception! Also posted to ALL season ticket holders! First domestic football club in the world to have the lion crest! Come on! Let’s get it right!
A terrible design as Chris Heck says… to take us forward over the next 150 years!
Why put “Aston Villa” across the bottom and not the top!
Why use the “old” lion and blue background!
There are better designs not there.
Why consult the Villa Fan’s with what we want and then with no final consultation implement this rubbish upgrade of the old crest!
Chris Heck is rubbering up the Villa Fan’s the wrong why what with ticket prices, loss of the Holte Suite and now this!
Looks like something out of Championship Manager tbh.
