Aston Villa confirmed the loan signing of Clément Lenglet from Barcelona on deadline day.
Rumours broke a couple of days that the defender could be linking up with Sporting director Monchi again at Aston Villa after the pair were together at Sevilla a few years ago.
The 28-year-old spent a season on loan at Tottenham and although his spell in North London was short of spectacular, he was a good member of the squad and dressing room. So much so that Spurs considered signing him on a permanent deal earlier in the window.
Villa have made the move to cover Tyrone Mings who was ruled out for the season following his injury in the defeat to Newcastle on the opening day of the season.
Lenglet has made 15 appearances for France. He is unlikely to make his debut this weekend as he waits for International clearance.
The defender will wear the number 17 jersey this season.
