The draw for the group stage of the Uefa Conference League took place this afternoon in Monaco with Aston Villa being drawn in Group E.
The draw featured 32 teams with the only other British side being Aberdeen who were knocked out of the Europa League last night.
Villa were drawn alongside AZ Alkmaar, Legia Warszawa and HŠK Zrinjski.
AZ Alkmaar reached the semi-final last year losing out to eventual winners, West Ham United and will prove to be the biggest threat at this stage of the competition to Unai Emery’s team.
Full fixture details will be announced in the next few days.
All group winners will advance to the round of 16. Runners-up contest the knockout round play-offs against third-placed sides from the Europa League, with the victors joining the group winners in the last 16.
