João Félix back on Villa radar

João Félix is reportedly back on the radar of Unai Emery and Aston Villa.

The Atletico Madrid star was linked with a move to Villa earlier in the summer but reports suggested the attacker wanted to play in the Champions League next season. However, reports from Marca today suggest that Villa are now ‘ahead’ in their pursuit of the 23-year-old.

Félix recently lost his number 7 jersey to Antoine Griezmann following his loan spell with Chelsea last season. He was also reportedly told to train away from the first team this week.

His future in Madrid looks bleak and has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Benfica but neither club’s interest is said to be at an advanced stage at this moment in time.

The report goes on to say that he turned Villa down earlier this summer but could be more interested if interest doesn’t materialise elsewhere.

During a loan spell with Chelsea last season he made 16 appearances and scored four goals.

The Portuguese international has won titles in Portugal with Benfica and Spain with Madrid so any more by Villa could be seen as a coup.

Personally, id be surprised if this was anything other than his agent trying to get a move for his client by mentioning Villa again but on the other hand, with Emery at the helm and this Aston Villa, anything is possible.
