Aston Villa have this evening announced their 6th transfer of the summer with the reported £13.5million capture of Leander Dendoncker from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 27-year-old Belgium international has racked up 159 appearances for Wolves since joining them initially on loan in 2018.
The Belgian international stated he is very excited to have signed for Aston Villa.
“It’s a new challenge for me. I’m really excited to be here and I’ve already been shown around the training ground.
“I can feel that this is a big club, you can just feel it. I obviously know the players from playing against them, and I know it’s a very good team with good players.
“I’m really happy to be here.”
The former Anderlecht midfielder is known for his versatility as he can play central or defensive midfield as well as a center-back. At 6ft 1inch, he will also add some much-needed height to our midfield.
Whoscored highlights the player’s strengths such as Aerial duels and concentration. He is also said to be good on the floor and helps to trigger counter-attacks, again something that Villa has struggled with this season.
