Aston Villa is one of England’s most celebrated football clubs, having won the Football League First Division seven times, and the FA Cup seven times. They’ve been competing in the Premier League for 27 seasons. Aston Villa are ranked 5th overall in the all-time English top-rank table.
Football is the biggest sport in England (and the World), so naturally, many punters are curious about the successes and failings of the top-flight clubs. Thanks to the rise in popularity of online gambling sites, sports wagering has become bigger than ever, and England has one of the biggest markets for online betting. Punters can find the best online sports betting sites on BetStation and place bets from the comfort of their home, or even from the bleachers in the stadiums.
It has been an up and down campaign so far this season for Villa. They currently sit 12th in the Premier League having won just eight from a possible twenty-three.
They have lost twelve while drawing three. We are going to take a look at the good, bad and downright ugly of our season so far.
The Good
Let’s start out on a positive note. Aston Villa has not gone this season without taking some major wins. As previously mentioned, Villa have won 8 from 23. Their first victory came at the very start of the season, on 21 August, when the Villans faced off against Newcastle. After an action-packed game, Aston Villa ended up winning with a score of 2–0.
Their biggest win, however, came on 25 September, when they defeated the darlings of English football, and one of the biggest clubs in the world, Manchester United. While in the eyes of many Man Utd fans, was the odds-on favourite to win, the Villans proved their metal, ending the game with a score of 0–1.
Apart from those two, other notable victories include their game against Brighton, Crystal Palace, and most recently, Everton. But, it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows.
The Bad
Out of 21 played matches overall, Aston Villa has lost eleven. They started the season off on the wrong foot, losing a game against Watford with a score of 3 – 2. While they played out their hearts in that match, Watford just brought a better A game it seems.
They also managed to end two games in a tie, the first against Brentford early on in the season, and the second only recently, in the rematch with Manchester United.
The Ugly
Out of the eleven losses they took, the worst of them, probably, was their fourth game in the season. The Villans went up against Chelsea and lost the game without scoring a single goal. The opposing team on the other hand managed to score three times, leaving Aston Villa in the dust. The game was a massive disappointment to fans of the club, not just in England, but around the world.

To be quite honest the Gerrard team is showing the same frailties as the Smith team. Every time we seem to be in a position to strike and move on with back to back wins against the so called lesser teams we come unstuck, we threw away a win against Leeds by bad team defending 2 pts dropped, loss against Newcastle, never in it like a team from the knackers yard why did Hause not start, bad team selection. We still cannot deliver consistent performances we badly need a CF who knows where the onion bag is, what about Archer, no way send him on loan, what about Barry? Some strange decisions being made, Ings, Watkins, Luiz Chambersber not good enough, need I go on, honeymoon period over SG, wake up and smell the coffee, we need players who are going to give their all every game not 1 in 4 games. At the moment I am very disappointed with our performances and I man not the only one. UTV team is bigger than any individual.
