With only a few games left to play, Aston Villa are currently battling to remain in the Premier League as they are currently sitting in the 19th position on the table.
As it happens with every other club that’s about to be relegated or might be relegated, several of Villa players are currently being linked with a move away from Villa Park.
A report in the media right now claims that Jota Peleteiro is the Villa player to be linked with a move away from the club in the summer transfer window, according to the reports surging the media via Birmingham Mail.
The 29-year-old winger, who joined the Villans in a swap deal that saw Gary Gardner move the opposite direction to Birmingham City in last year summer transfer window, found game-time hard to come by since his arrival at the club with manager Dean Smith preferring to play Anwar El Ghazi, Trezeguet and Jack Grealish in wide areas.
With this being the case, Jota has only been able to manage 13 appearances in all competitions with four Premier League starts this 19/20 campaign. If it was any other player, they would want to leave the club at the first big chance they get as this does not even affect Jota’s willingness to remain at the Villa Park to fight for his position under the management of Dean Smith.
The Spaniard has rebuffed an offer coming from Scottish giants Celtic, who wants to sign him to their club this summer transfer window, while Championship clubs like Nottingham Forest and Fulham have also laid down a loan deals to him. Bet football also offers interesting odds during the transfer market, with how several players are being linked to one club or the other this summer just like Jota.
Grealish agent responds
In other news, Jack Grealish’s agent Johnathan Barnett has given a response to the rumours linking his client with a move to Old Trafford this summer.
It’s no secret that Premier League giants Manchester United are trying to lure in a group of talented young stars to the club, mostly homegrown talent since the appointment of their manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2019.
Since taking charge as the Head coach, Solskjaer has brought in Harry Maguire from Leicester City, Daniel James from Swansea City, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace last summer and also Portuguese superstar Bruno Fernandes from Sporting CP last winter.
The signing of the Portugal international seems to have overturned Red Devils’ performance as they have been in an impressive run of victories in the Premier League since the restart this season.
United are still in the transfer market searching for a potential player to bring into their club further improve their team and also their bench. Aston Villa’s star Grealish has been reported to be a top transfer target on Solskjaer list for this summer transfer window.
With several reports claiming that the Red Devils are close to completing a deal that will see Grealish join the club, the Villa playmakers agent said to the media: “Absolutely no deal has been done with anybody.
“I don’t think they’re [Aston Villa] looking at the Championship themselves, they believe that, hopefully, they’ll get out of the trouble they’re in.
“Jack believes it, he’s fighting hard, as hard as he can to stop that. That’s all that is on his mind at the moment.
