Aston Villa v Burton Albion – Preview

Aston Villa vs Burton Albion
Sky Bet Championship
15:00 – Saturday 03 February 2018
Villa Park, Birmingham

Burton Albion are the latest visitors to Villa Park as Steve Bruce’s men will look to do the double over our small Midlands rivals.

The home side will be looking to continue with their impressive form as they look for their sixth win in a row in the Championship. Villa finds themselves just a point behind second-placed Derby County and will be hoping to replace them in the automatic promotion spot.

Albion is currently in a dreadful run of form having lost their last three Championship games, conceding twelve in the process. Nigel Clough’s side sits at the foot of the table and will be hoping to avenge the 4-0 defeat they suffered against Villa earlier this season.

TEAM NEWS

Villa’s squad is currently is a very good place injury wise with only Jonathan Kodjia and Jed Steer out injured. Bruce said today in his press conference: “I’ve got practically everybody fit, which can only be a good thing.”

Lewis Grabban is unlikely to be risked due to his lack of training over the last month but could feature off the bench.

Former Villa striker Darren Bent is a big doubt for Burton after picking up a knock in the defeat to Reading in mid-week.

Lloyd Dyer (back) and Kyle McFadzean (ankle) have a couple of niggles but Clough is hoping that both of them will be ok to face Villa.
