Bohemians were to have the last laugh though when they scored late on witch was enough to beat Villa. Enzo and Maddan combined beautifully to unlock the Villa defence before Enzo slotted past Brad Friedel.

Although this is a nothing game, It is a game we have to be winning especially against a side who got hammered last week to TNS and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

‘Arry joins the Milner Race

Harry Redknapp has joined the race to sign James Milner and this could be just what Villa need to force the price up to around £30million as MON as stated he wants.

City looked like they wasn’t going to budge on there £24million offer but now with competition they will have to if they want to get there man.

Just like the Barry saga last summer, I just wish we could get this sorted and get it over and done with so we can move on.

Spurs drop to 5th today after Liverpools win against Merseyside rivals Everton, while Villa stay 7th, two points adrift of Spurs with a game in hand.

Both sides attacked and cancelled each other out as the defences of both sides including goalkeepers each had there own agenda.

Its no secret that other clubs have sat up and took notice of whats been happening at Villa Park, as Fulham last season celebrated as if they had won the game when they drawed with us 0-0. This year it was West Hams turn to frustrate and then celebrate.

There used to be a time that the Eastend side would expect to give Villa a game, and although they did have a few chances today it was clear by Gianfranco Zolas tactics that they were here just to avoid defeat.

Villa also blew the chance to close the gap on Manchester City and Tottenham and now instead sit two points behind them after playing the same number of games.

It wasnt the most entertaining of games when there was only one chance really in the first half. Stewart Downing crossed the ball and a wonderful piece of skill sin Gabriel Agbonlahor with a spinning snap-shot only to be denied by England goalkeeper Robert Green.

In the second half Villa did get the ball in the hammers net, but John Carew was judged to of been offside.

And then Agbonlahor could of won all three points in the final minutes when Stewart Downing found him in acres of space and he broke free only to be denied once again by the West Ham goalkeeper.

Villa showed they struggle to break down a side who set out not to concede today and this route one football down the wings was once again found out. If we are to ever break the top 4 we must have more than just a plan A as its becoming obvious how Villa will attack each and every time now.

Im sorry but is there something im missing here? Why would we want to allow John Carew to leave for Robbie Keane? Yes i would take Robbie Keane at the Villa if the price was right for Villa – but i wouldnt allow John Carew to go, just like i said a few days ago, I wouldnt allow Emile Heskey to leave.

And a story i heard late last night, so theres a chance you may have already heard about this one. Apparently Gareth Barry wants out of Manchester City and wants to return to Villa Park. How much truth is in this? To be honest im not sure. There is a strong rumour that his wife still lives in Birmingham, why hes living in Manchester.

With Roberto Mancini coming in, apparently he doesnt rate the England international and thats the reason why he is about to sign Patrick Viera.

Would i take Gareth back? I think we would be stupid not to. But i would never pay him the wages hes earning at Manchester City. And i think he realises this. I do think he could end up at Spurs, but then again if his wife won’t move out of her Birmingham home to move to Manchester, why would she do it to move to London?
