John Carew was signed in a part exchange deal involving former Aston Villa forward Milan Baros on the 22nd January 2007 from Lyon.

He has fastly become a fans favourite at Villa Park stating he believes theres no reason why Villa cant make it into Europe. Carew went on to score on his home debut against West Ham United.

Before Aston Villa

John Carew began his career with Norweigen team Vålerenga helping them to win the Norweigen Cup scoring 29 goals in 43 games. He soon moved to Rosenborg helping them win the league with a goal ratio of a goal every game.

In 2000 after impressing in the champions league with Rosenborg, Spanish giants Valencia snapped up the forward where he went on to score 37 goals in 84 games helping them also win the League title and reach a Champions League Final.

Carew continued to move around when he was loaned out to Italian side Roma helping there cause with 11 goals in 20 games. The 2004-2005 season sore him play his football in Turkey for Besiktas scoring 13 in 24 games for them.

After the season had finished he was snapped up by French Champions Lyon where he continued his tradition of winning trophies and scoring goals. He scored 17 in 35 for Lyon.

John Carew has represented his country 66 times, scoring 20 goals at the time of writing.
