Born in London, Mark Bunn began his career at Tottenham Hotspur but wasn’t offered a professional deal until he joined Northampton Town in 2000.

The goalkeeper went on to make 106 appearances for the Cobblers during his eight-year spell with the club.

On the 29th August 2008, it was announced that Bunn had signed for Blackburn Rovers on a four-year deal, for a fee believed to be in the region of £1,000,000.

He failed to make an impact at Ewood Park, making just 15 appearances during three seasons with the club. The goalkeeper was sent out on loan to Leicester City (2008-09) and Sheffield United (2009-10).

Four years after signing for Blackburn, Bunn was officially announced as a Norwich City player on a two-year deal, with the option of another year. He was signed to compete with the highly-rated John Ruddy.

Due to injury, Mark Bunn replaced John Ruddy in the 82nd minute of a 1-1 draw with Everton on November 24th. He then went on to deputise for Ruddy and made 23 appearances.

On May 24th 2015, Bunn announced on his official Twitter account that he would leave Norwich City at the end of that season.

It was announced on July 9th 2015 that he would sign for Aston Villa as a free agent.
