Despite making a few appearances in Danish Cup games, including being part of the F.C. Nordsjælland cup winning side in 2010-11, Jores didn’t make his first league appearance until 3 April 2011 against AC Horsens. He continued to cover the injured Michael Parkhurst for the remainder of the season making 11 appearances.
During the close season Jores Okore agreed a new four year deal and was made an official member of the senior squad for the 2011-12 season.
On September 2011, Okore scored his first senior goal in a 2-0 league victory over Brøndby. Just two months later he extended his contract until December 2016 and was made vice-captain for the 2012-13 season.
After impressing in the Champions League, interest began to rise for the signature of Jores Okore however he turned down moves to both Chelsea and Ukrainian club Metalist Kharkiv stating he didn’t want to be part of a squad rotation system and wanted first team football.
On June 13 2013, Okore signed a four year deal for Aston Villa for a fee believed to be in the region of £4 million. FC Nordsjælland confirmed via the club’s official Twitter and Facebook accounts that he was their most expensive sale ever.
The defender then made his debut for Villa in a pre-season game against Sv Rödinghausen while on a tour of Germany. The game finished 1-1 but Jores Okore had to be substituted due to an injury.
On September 16 2013, the club announced that Okore had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee, which would require surgery and rule him out for the rest of the season.
November 24 2014 saw Okore make his return to the first team in a 1 all draw against Southampton a full 14 months after the initial injury. Since then he has become a regular fixture at the back though still dropped from time to time. Okore scored his first goal for the club in a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea. Though most remember it for the first goal Villa had scored in 7 league matches.
