Part of a famous Ghanaian footballing family, Jordan Ayew’s youth career began at Association Sportive Lyon-Duchère in 2000 and he remained at the club until 2006, when he joined Marseille as a trainee.
Ayew signed a three-year professional contract with Marseille in 2009, making his senior début in a league game against Lorient in December 2009. He marked his début with the equaliser in a game his side won 2-1.
Ayew, playing alongside his older brother Andre, made one hundred and eleven appearances for Marseille between 2009 and 2014, scoring fourteen times.
In January 2014, the forward joined FC Sochaux-Montbéliard on loan for the remainder of the 2014-15 season and scored five goals in seventeen appearances there.
In July 2014, Ayew signed a four-year deal with FC Lorient and his twelve goals in twenty-nine appearances helped the club to avoid relegation.
On 27th July 2015, Jordan Ayew followed his brother Andre, who signed for Swansea City earlier in the summer, to the Premier League when he joined Aston Villa Football Club on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £9 million.
Ayew made his first senior appearance for Ghana on 5th September 2010, in a 3–0 2012 AFCON qualifier against Swaziland.
On 1st June 2012, Ayew scored his first and second international goals in a 2014 World Cup qualifier against Lesotho.
At present, he has twenty-eight international caps and has scored eight times for Ghana.
