I wonder if we will start to hear some noise from Gardner about not playing for almost the whole season? He hasn't been injured, right? He did feature last week I believe, in the Sunderland game after Young went out, but that was only for, what, 20 minutes?

Looks like he might be on his way this time, even MON is talking about it now and it seems there is definite interest according to this football article on potential transfers. Since we signed Delph, Gardner is further down the pecking order. He had promise, but needs to establish himself elsewhere - if he doesn't get picked for the early Carling Cup games he knows he doesn't have much prospect of playing.

Not good enough for us.

Not a bad player by any means, but if we have top 4 aspirations I can't see any point him staying, he won't get much time on the pitch.
