Relegation- Are We Staying Up

why is everybody assuming it's too late? it's January in a couple of days and Lerner was there today for the first time in how long? after 2 bad defeats.. and he witnessed another..

i know the majority are starting to blame Lambert but seriously look at the players at his disposal.. he got given 20 million in January to overhaul the squad and he bought defenders, midfielders and attackers.. now he need a further 30+ to bring some experience in. just how much does the manager have to do with it when the whistle has blown and we've kicked off? those players should have been murderous today!! imagine YOU in a Villa shirt on that pitch facing off against Wigan after the previous two matches. No Arsenal fans will be calling for Wengers head tonight will they? even though a week ago he was inept, useless, past it, stubborn blah blah.. the same players.. the same manager.. and an entirely different performance.

Lerner needs to start investing heavily in this club, that's where the anger should be directed, not at the man who has to manage a team of kids against opposition who smell their fear.

if Lerner has ANY sense, he will sort this out next month, if not, i suppose we'll all blame the manager and start next season with no money and a new man to pin all of our hopes on and ultimately crucify while the owner stays away and manages to delegate responsibility to everybody else.

I saw something in today's performance that gave me some hope of staying up ,,

Love it!!!!! Supporting Villa isn't good for my health!!!! Or my marriage Bank balance Car Self respect :-)

listenining to the post match interview----i do,nt envisage much, if any experience being brought in,-- Lambo said Villa have skimmed relegation the last 2 seasons with experience,---and he is right,!

The owner has lowered the wage bill, lowered the expectation and is lowering the club.

McLeish and Lambert accepted the poison chalice and must also shoulder blame if we get relegated.

I think Lambert can do a good job but the premiership is not the place to totally rebuild with in-experienced players.

My money is now on 23 home games next year.

RL has reaped what he has sown.

Well I would agree to a certain point, I think the problem with Lerner is he puts people in place and lets then get on with it, that actually is brilliant, however, what you have to do is make sure you have the right man for the job, otherwise its like putting the chief stewardess in charge of flying the plane while you p*ss of elsewhere, you just know what's going to happen.

Point I would agree with if Villa where in League 1 or even the Championship, (although that isn't that far different from the bottom 10 of the Prem) there you can get youth, bring them through ground them for 2 or 3 seasons and build, the Premiership is an unforgiving mistress and you have to hit the ground running every time, so Lamberts made mistakes and Lerner has made another so what to do???we all make them, the thing is can Lambert change and recover, has he got a plan B now plan A isn't working, is he mentally the kind of bloke that can change.

I dont beleive ALL our senior players are so seriously injured they cant play - they either dont want to play for Mr Lambert or Mr lambert dosnt want them to play for him. and the truth is probably somewhere in the middle

I don't think some of the seniors are into Lambert plan, I've noticed in games when players like Bent and Ireland are sitting in the back/bench and we are losing, they are all having a laugh, one commentator even commented on it.

Thought this today when I saw Weimann on the pitch. He was supposed to be out with injury, yet played 90 min and have his all with very little around him. Gained so much more respect for him. He's proven how good he can be, but he was left on an island today with no support.

I think Ireland showed today why he doesn't feature much. Very talented player, but no fight. Saw today the player I dispised so much when he first came to Villa.

Pigs belong in the sty and that shithole's down the road. We're the pride of Birmingham so FFS make Brum proud tonight." -AnneMc

Bent clearly pulled up at Norwich, it was a genuine injury mate.

Ak, this is the point, unless they already have a contract on the table for Bent and he has decided that he's of why would you keep a player like that sidelined when you have got to the low point we have now....don't make sense.
