invested around 30million net over 2 transfer windows and purchased the club for the debt owed to the banks to stop going into adminstration, bought the wrong players tbf, reduced the wage bill as well

long road ahead on and off the pitch

http://www.transferl...-transfers.html

But 40 million wasted on Henderson and Downing (EPL rec P28 A0 G0) regardless of net spending the money spent has been frittered away!!

5 red freds on the first page, maybe time for an official one?

Why not, i might make one and merge all topics!

“Each smallest act of kindness, reverberates across great distances and spans of time --affecting lives unknown to the one who’s generous spirit, was the source of this good echo. Because kindness is passed on and grows each time it’s passed until a simple courtesy becomes an act of selfless courage, years later, and far away. Likewise, each small meanness, each expression of hatred, each act of evil.”

bought the wrong players tbf, can't get much clearer in were Liverpool went wrong. the owners never invested lots of money just sold well and bought badly while using the clubs generated funds. they might of invested 5-10m out their own pockets but you will only see that in future accounts

be interesting to see how much is available this summer

Are the owners willing to invest heavily in the team when so much money has been squandered? Aston Villa has been through this and are hopefully coming out the other side but Liverpool need to maybe follow the lead of Villa in getting finances straight?? but to be honest i have heard rumour of bumper contracts being offered to players like Suarez and co! is this a statement of intent or a last ditch attempt to keep hold of your stars? time will tell i suppose?

IMO the downfall began with the loss of Xavi Alonso. He has never truly been replaced, and the wrong players have been purchased instead. We found out ourselves this year just how important a quality CM is.

"Lions roar, not whimper. You're the hunters, not the hunted. Now get out there to f*ck and bring home the points because if you don't bring home the bacon you get treated like a pig. Pigs belong in the sty and that shithole's down the road. We're the pride of Birmingham so FFS make Brum proud tonight." -AnneMc

the recent injury record for Stevie G AND the poor form (by his own standards) has much to do with this imo... the guy has carried many players for liverpool imo, now he just hasnt got the legs anymore, meaning other lesser players who in the past were able to hide in Gerrards shadow are now being found out.

Torres also, might have been p!ss poor last year or so... but was a class apart at times in a liverpool shirt.

The Hicks and Gillette years will be looked back on as the beginning of the end of Liverpool's revival!! but thats just my thoughts.

not that relegation looms or anything just that their time as a major force in English football is coming to an end ....again!

you say that but...... didnt nottingham forest use to be a force once upon a time?

cant rule anything out in todays game... especially after the season we just had.... 5 years ago we would never of thought we would be so close to going down...
