Sacro 161
I remember in Irelands rant about Birmingham after he went to newcastle on loan he said something like "why would i want to be there when i could be in LA?" he might jump at this, he would be in a place he obviously likes living a glamorous lifestyle while playing football that isn't half as competetive/physically intense as the Prem.. ak47deol 177
After the saga over the weekend there was sure for some news about Ireland leaving coming out, doubt it is true tho
Skyba 246
If this were to be true I'd be surprised that he'd do it professionally as mls isnt exactly a good league where players who can still do it go. I also wouldn't be that surprised on the other hand as they pay huge wages for mediocre players and over the hill ones so god knows what they'd pay a prem level player (dunno what donavon is on) By it would also be a disaster for us, say what you like about Ireland but he is a good player and a player of such quality that we wouldn't easily be able to replace for a few reasons, our new wage budget and the fact that our club looks about as an attractive proposition as a big bath of steaming horse sh*t. When I was just a little boy i asked my mother what shall i beee. Shall i be villa shall i be blues, Here's what she said to me...... YOU KNOW THE REST

Loyalvillan 585
More rumours regarding Stephen Ireland and a move to the MLS have appeared on the net, Apparently the Red Bulls may have contact his agent with an enquiry?? Persoanlly, although he has been better of late but in no way has his justified his 67k a week wages! Let him go for 6 million and be done with him. “Each smallest act of kindness, reverberates across great distances and spans of time --affecting lives unknown to the one who’s generous spirit, was the source of this good echo. Because kindness is passed on and grows each time it’s passed until a simple courtesy becomes an act of selfless courage, years later, and far away. Likewise, each small meanness, each expression of hatred, each act of evil.”

Disagree 67k for a creative midfielder which we lack and is so vital to the getting anything out of AM's tactics is not much. He's been healthy and only gotten better as the season has gone on and has been our best player since December. People constantly complain about us selling off our talent, this would be another case of that. I was all for getting rid of him when he wasn't producing, but that has changed. No only is his play there, but the dude has been all over the pitch. The effort is there. 6 mil for him now? No F&@kin way! We can replace CB's, wingers, and even a striker like Bent in AM's system. But finding a creative midfielder like Ireland is not that easy. Keep in mind that Man U and all their resources had to get old man Scholes out of retirement because they couldn't find one. Not saying they would want Ireland, but when you find that guy who fits your system, you keep him. Plain and simple. MLS is for aging has-beens like Ballack. "Lions roar, not whimper. You're the hunters, not the hunted. Now get out there to f*ck and bring home the points because if you don't bring home the bacon you get treated like a pig. Pigs belong in the sty and that shithole's down the road. We're the pride of Birmingham so FFS make Brum proud tonight." -AnneMc

He will never show anything like the Man City form until our CM issue is sorted though. With Petrov being the laziest player in the world(Fact) Ireland is having to drop deeper and deeper so cant concentrate on the creative side. Sooner we got 2 good CM's the better it will be and then we will see Ireland step up another level or two

Although hes improved over the last two months like most players of his skill he doesnt want to spend his time tracking back when he could be getting a bit of glory going forward. Apart from all that he is on around 60- 80K a week and the club will want him off the wage bill this summer. POUNTNEY
