Price tag is high at 5m though dude, im sure Southampton went after him in the summer but were told he was not for sale, he may well leave in the summer if Burnley dont go up <a class='bbc_url' href='http://www.avillafan.com'><img src='http://www.avillafan.com/forum/predictionleague/Carlingcup.png' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' /></a>
Sacro 161
Changes need to be made in the summer, but any incoming players will more than likely be funded by selling some of our current lot. So the question is who do you sell and who do you buy with the money you make?

LaVillain 65
trade spuds...Hutton for Clark...( I wish)..but seriously I see the likes of Bannon and Herd moving on and I wouldn't be at all suprised if Bent doesn't move on if he continues in his current form and has a good EURO championship (if he's picked for the squad) . Also Collins may become a target for the likes of Bolton etc. Possibly Ireland could move if his form continues and his wage demands are met. As for players coming in, I think a lot depends on who is available for what we can afford, which in turn depends on funds available. Hopefully whatever the funds are will not become public knowledge so as not to have teams hold us to ransom for over-inflated prices. when your up to your nuts in alligators...It's hard to concentrate and remember your initial task was to drain the swamp

Delph, Bent, Ireland, Delfouneso, Heskey, Petrov, Collins, Cuellar, Guzan, Makoun could all go, i don't know about replacements though..... Hoilett would be nice!
Loyalvillan 585
I this that we have missed the point here, it has always been about the wage bill more than sell to buy. With several player out of contract at the end of the season we will have some room to make additions. I really don't think that the transfer fees are the issue, its the wage bill “Each smallest act of kindness, reverberates across great distances and spans of time --affecting lives unknown to the one who’s generous spirit, was the source of this good echo. Because kindness is passed on and grows each time it’s passed until a simple courtesy becomes an act of selfless courage, years later, and far away. Likewise, each small meanness, each expression of hatred, each act of evil.”

I really don't think that the transfer fees are the issue, its the wage bill i suppose though that it still acts as a sell to buy scenario as few players would take a big pay cut for doing the same job, so in order to bring in a player and offer them, say, 60k pw we will have to get rid of a player, or multiple players who's wage equals or exceeds that amount.
