Matteysan 3
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13599979.stm Also reported here. Villa have already been linked with Everton manager David Moyes, Fulham boss Mark Hughes and former England coach Steve McClaren as possible successors should Houllier's reign be at an end. Moyes would be good he's done well at Everton. McClaren needs to stay the hell away though!
carrzee10 58
Sounds like we are jumping the gun a bit here, Villa now saying all reports are very premature, and there is no truth in this report....hhmmmmmmmm.. Matt Kendrick, I hope you are not bluffing...
avstu 263
Kendrick is usually pretty reliable, i think they are just delaying what we know is coming until a package between club and manager has been agreed. forevaavillan1 138
Kendrick is usually pretty reliable, i think they are just delaying what we know is coming until a package between club and manager has been agreed. Kendrick is about as reliable as a number ten bus, as I stated earlier, he is just trying to second guess that which is common knowledge to most, the fact that no one in their right mind can see Gh staying on, but if Kedrick gets this guess right, he will indeed be the man that told everyone so before it was generally released. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11677_6960365,00.html
villa1874 3
I can fully understand the scepticism but for the Evening Mail to go big on this (front & back page)it would indeed be a huge gamble & loss of credibility if it were not true
forevaavillan1 138
I can fully understand the scepticism but for the Evening Mail to go big on this (front & back page)it would indeed be a huge gamble & loss of credibility if it were not true It's pretty obvious that its going to come true, heart problems/ wife pressure etc etc, whether this coincides with the mail reports will soon be there for all to see. What I was trying to point out is that unless Gh and his family want to play with a loaded gun, then it would make absolute sence to stand down because of medical and personal reasons. Only a fool would carry on and risk an early grave because of the extra stress managing a premiership football club brings with it. I just hope that RL and Co realise that they can not fook about when appointing a new manager, as there is a massive job awaiting any new appointment, and we can't fook about all summer identifying the right candidate for the job, as we have a much depleted squad now and a new manager will need a few weeks to bed in and come up with a list of what he needs at his disposal for teh new season. Roary 20
Apparently he's stepping away from the game completely. Hope that's not that case as he's a good scout with an eye for young talent Still, I'm sort o glad he's leaving. Would have preferred to see how he would have gone with a full pre season under his belt. Would like a well known manager with experience in the EPL too, Ancelotti or Moyes thank you very much :) // AVillaFan 2009/10 FA Cup Winner // AVillaFan 2010 Community Shield Winner // AVillaFan 2010 World Cup 3rd Place Winner
Peever 238
Quick breakdown: Players sold memorabilia for cash and tattoos. Tressell was notified last April, but said nothing to the NCAA or the school. When the issue became public matter in December, Tressell told the NCAA he had no prior knowledge. He lied to the NCAA to cover for his players. That was the death nail. Now the floodgates are going to open up on Ohio State. It's a sad day in Buckeye country............. ....But the sun looks to be shining in Birmingham! I really hope this news is true and is soon followed by a new hire. I think bringing in the right manager will end all of this Downing talk too. AY can go, but we need Downing to stay. Give the new manager 10-15 mil plus any sales, and we're back in the fight for Europe next season. Cheers thanks. College football boggles my mind sometimes there is so much money involved for the schools and they have an absolute flip out when the players get involved even a little bit its a big to do. Ah well, never going to change. Roary I do hope that GH doesnt fully leave the club. His eye for talent and convincing them to come is good and would be nice to keep him in as a scout or something of that nature.
ak47deol 177
Hope in part this is true. I dont want him here as the manager no longer even though i think fans have been very harsh on him however i would welcome him to stay along with the club in some form as his links will prove to be very valuable. We all just need to wait for news from Aston Villa now and see what happens
