Portsmouth

One has to feel a certain amount of sympathy for Portsmouth.

Today is the day that they the fans will find out whether or not they will have a club to represent their City for the rest of the season and indeed there after.

The Uk tax man has all ready decided that a cash payment up front with further payments there after will not surfice the taxmans and indeed the Uk governments greed.

My view is that Portsmouth if allowed to continue will be paid their live footaball money in the coming months and if allowed to exist until the opening of the Summer transfer window, the sale of players could indeed surfice the amounts owed. Common sense should prevail, where the club should be allowed to survive, all be it that they the club would undoubtedly have to rebuild and re shape from the bottom up and with the points reduction all be it starting in the Championship.

The problems that Portsmouth face are bound to be the problems that will be faced by less shrewed clubs in the very near future, and indeed some of those clubs are bound to be Prem clubs, some of the front runners are West Sham/ Liverpool/ Bolton and indeed Man United, although Man U would undoubtedly gain new owners at the first sign of real trouble.

feel sorry for them but one question thats on my mind is if they get relegated and go bust, will there be 23 teams in the championship or wlll 4 teams come up from league 1?

tbh if they dont go bust it'll be good for pompey to go down, re group and restart in the championship

same thing happened with southampton and now portsmouth. Find it kind of interesting that Harry Redknapp managed both these teams then left them :whistling:

I never liked Redknapp anyway, because I remember once when he came to my local side Nuneaton Borough in a fa cup match against bournemouth & insulted are ground on the telly. My dad hates his guts. Also I remember when he was on Jeremy Beadle & they tricked him once & one of the fake groundsmen they had. He had a go at this groundsmen by shaking him & saying "do you have brain?". It was disguting having ago at an old groundsmen.

Yes Portsmouth is just an example of had badly run football teams are especially now in the Prem

Sunderland have massive debts

West Ham obviously

Liverpool

Man Utd

Chelsea keep having debts written off by the russian money bags

Man City will just spend spend spend!

without alot of success these teams could just bust!
