€15m from Aston Villa ‘could be sufficient’ to secure January signing

Morgan Sanson to Aston Villa has seen a lot of drama over the past week or so.

First, claims came from France of interest from the Birmingham club, and then it was stated an offer would be made to Marseille. Quickly after that, Aston Villa were said to have submitted a bid and it was reported that a move was on the verge of happening.

Then it was edged out to the French media that Marseille weren’t impressed by what Villa had put forward, with manager Andre Villas-Boas going public to say the offer was very weak.

Is he any good? Don't know.

But let's hope it works out better than Berson, Makoun or Veretout.

Aston Villa emerge as favourites after setting aside £40m to sign striker

Aston Villa have reportedly emerged as the favourites to sign Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham this summer after West Ham boss David Moyes ruled out a move.

Villa, Wolves, Leicester and the Hammers are all in the running to land the England forward, who has struggled for game time since Thomas Tuchel took the Stamford Bridge reins from Frank Lampard. However, it would appear that chase is now down to just three.

LEE HENDRIE BELIEVES THE VILLANS ARE IN POLE POSITION FOR TAMMY ABRAHAM’S SIGNATURE

TELEMMGLPICT000196823661_trans_NvBQzQNjv

Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie believes Aston Villa are in pole position to sign Chelsea’s struggling striker Tammy Abraham ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

The 23-year-old striker has struggled for game time at Stamford Bridge since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival, starting just two Premier League games under the German and being withdrawn at halftime on both occasions.

Abraham’s lack of action has led to speculation that the England international could depart the capital club over the coming months, with Football Insider claiming Villa are locked in a battle with Wolves for the striker’s signature.

Tammy coming in would certainly create some competition up front but its the midfield and wings that need improving  or we'll just have another isolated striker.

Jack aside not one of the players in those areas has consistently performed well,  we need a couple of  genuine 40 million pound players in the middle.
