Arsenal 3-2 Aston Villa

Smith deserves sh*t for this game tonight. Shocking game management. Why are we so f**cking deep? Nobody bar Mings and Heaton are telling them to push further uo. You could see from the 46th minute thst Arsenal weren't going to lie down but they were suspect at the back. El Ghazi bar his one cross has been poor. Hasn't tracked back enough. Guilbert can f*ck off. How people think he's any good is beyond me. For one of their goals he looked left, saw the man he was supposed to be marking, and still continued to leave him unmarked. Dogshit. Subs have come far too late as well. Why wait until we're 3-2 down? Poor management.

Wesley bar his goal has been dogshit as well. Lazy. The amount of times he's laid the ball off and then just stopped, and not bothered to run into the box? He's supposed to be a f**cking striker ffs?

This result has pissed me off more than any other this season now. Because we've just allowed them to win. May as well have not bothered turning up in the second half. Down to ten men and it looked like WE had the disadvantage

Can't argue with that, game there for the taking and we just sat off them.

Another p*ss poor performance.

If Bruce was in charge he'd be getting absolutely crucified for sitting back at 1-0 and 2-1.

EPL (Premier League), Sunday 22/09/2019 : Arsenal 3-2 Aston Villa

After an excellent start, 2nd half Game mis-management today has led to another defeat, drawn from the jaws of victory.

Attendance : 60,331 (SSN)

After this result AVFC's total Form Points fell from 30 to 25 ... that is, points after 38 games.
The maximum available is now 100 points, with 96 points left to play for.
AVFC are below par and 18th in the table, with 4 points and GD at -3 from 6 games.

1-0 up opposition down to ten men, only going to be winner.  Not when Villa are the opposition, absolutely fuming about this result.  If we cannot get at least a point from these situations we are going down, simple.

Completely unacceptable.

Agree with what has already been said, embarrassing against a p*ss poor Arsenal side.

Players on the pitch and Smith have to take huge personal blame for this one.

We could all see it coming with how deep we went, we invited them on and even had the chance to learn our lesson after we got back to 2-1. El Ghazi was a disaster again, the Elmo sub invited pressure on and encouraged Arsenal. Hourihane should have been brought on very early in the second half for some calm and composure in midfield.

The switching of a key midfield starting position between Hourihane to Luiz to Nakamba is just crazy stuff at this level. Wesley regardless of his goal was terrible again today.

We looked good when we got at them and they looked very shaky, we should have have finished them off and kept control of the ball better. Instead we panicked again and decided to try and hold out against 10 men. Make no mistake about it that's a shockingly bad Arsenal team, complete embarrassment to cave against them and the last 2 performances are relegation form.

A long way to go, not calling for heads or anything daft but we really need to start learning lessons and not go so negative when we are winning, it doesn't suit us. Some of the players can get better too you would hope with more games.

Very disappointed---thats twice now in 6 days that we have failed to press home the advantage against 10 men--in fact we look like we have the 10 men---and to concede 3 goals is in my book blinking criminal  when we have more players on the field,!!

its time for the manager to re-examine his selection and system ---because neither are clearly not working---and for some of the players to look at themselves----because we must not get cast adrift in that bottom 3  games will be coming thick and fast-and before you know it the gap will be too much----

its the same every game, we just fall to bits in the second half, ball control was shocking in most parts, i will never understand how smithy comes up with some of the subs he brings on, and when he brings them on, why we still have el ghazy   i will never know, the same applies to guilbert. what a waste of space he is, we need to spend again next jan, allbeit, it may be to late by then the way we are playing, we are still to weak up front, apart from mings, we have no one that is likely to score. the honey moon is over for the manager, he needs to shape up, and the time is now.

Constant mistakes are costing us points. All three goals we conceded were down to mistakes that could have been prevented by playing simple football.

Also for the second away game in a row we have been done by VAR not picking up on a referee error - something it has been put there for.

I thought overall it was our best performance of the season. BUT this sitting back is getting silly now and will be our downfall.

Attack is the best form of defence - Arsenal were there to be got at and we didn’t do it. I thought Smiths changes were too late again also.

We need to start putting points on the board and fast.
