Recommended Posts

AVillaFan Prediction League, Rules Since Season 2019-2020.

The AVillaFan Prediction League will only cover Aston Villa's matches.

That means all Aston Villa matches, League, FA Cup and League Cup.

Predicting

1} Each match will have its own thread. To predict, copy the fixture in the OP and post it into the thread with your predicted score.

2} Players can only make one prediction per match. The prediction can be amended before the thread is closed.

Predictions must be made BEFORE kick off and will not be accepted after.

Twitter

We will also include predictions from Twitter.

Those who predict on Twitter must tag @avillafan in their tweet with the Hashtag #AVLPL

NOTE : 'Protected' tweets are not acceptable at all. ALL predictions must be visible to all players and especially to the scorer !!!

Duplicate Usernames

Each player can only have one record in the AVF Prediction League, either on AVF itself OR via Twitter, but not both.
It is up to each player to ensure that their Username is correct.

Scoring

All Prediction League points will be based upon the Full Time Score only.

Scoring is as before, 10 points for the correct score, 5 points for the correct result but by a different score and 0 (zero) points for an incorrect result.

Predicted scores will be read as Home Team {score} Away Team.

This means that if a score is given as : 2-1 ... then it will be read as Home Team 2-1 Away Team.

If a score is given as : 2-1 Villa ... then it will be read as 2-1 to Aston Villa, irrespective of whether AVFC is Home or Away.

AVillaFan Prediction League Table.

Matches are counted as Games (Gm01 onwards) with League, FA Cup and League Cup matches each counted separately.

League matches will be identified as 'Wk' and will run from Wk01 to Wk38 ...
FA Cup matches will run from FA99 and increment for as long as AVFC is in the FA Cup.
League Cup matches will run from FL99 and increment for as long as AVFC is in the League Cup.

1} Column 'Player Name' : Player's Name as used on AVF or on Twitter.

2} Column 'From' shows when a Player first played in the AVF Prediction League this Season, from Gm01 onwards.

3} Column Wk99 or FL99 or FA99 shows who predicted in the game (Y or N), where '99' represents the League game number or Cup Round number.

4} Table Sort Order : Player Name (ascending) within From (ascending) within Played (descending) within Score (descending) within Total (descending).

Column 'From' is included to provide a bias, where scores are equal, in favour of Players who have been playing the longest, from Gm01 onwards.

Typos in Predictions.

Please note that the Prediction League Scorer cannot second-guess a player's intentions !

It is up to each player to :
1} Do their proof-reading check before posting their prediction ... or
2} Correct any typos after posting their prediction ... provided that
3} The corrections are made before the kick-off time of the game.
