Transfer rumours

Tuanzebe for £8 million would be a steal.  Believe it when I hopefully see it, interestingly he is in the last year of his contract.

Due for talks with United according to this: https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-united-set-talks-aston-16479193

Seems he wants to try to break into Utd's first team plans, we can't afford to hang around waiting for him to decide unfortunately.  On to the next target.

The club has quite openly stated that they have back ups for back ups on their transfer options. Hence why i dont think we will be paying willy nilly like some clubs seem to think we will.

Aston Villa have been linked with Moussa Marega in recent months – and the Porto striker's release clause has been revealed.

Marega has caught the eye of several clubs after a brilliant season at Porto scoring 21 goals and assisting 11 more.

His scintillating form couldn’t prevent his side from finishing runners-up to Benfica in the Primeira Liga - and that has triggered a clause in Marega’s contract that allows him to leave for £31m.

If we bought even half the players we're being linked with we'd end up with 3 squads.

I'd like to see us buy more English players personally. Ala O'Neill, just with a sprinkling of foreign talent. I just feel like if we buy too many foreigners it'll unsettle the squad. We should pay whatever is necessary for Mings and Axel. Hell even Tammy. Then supplement them with another winger, left back and cdm

£31 million is a lot for somebody who has only proven themselves in the Portuguese league, which has a couple of big sides and a bunch of also-rans.

I would spend that much on a cert like Abraham, but not on a risk.

Their are no certs when signing players, its always a risk but if Pitarch is any good at his job we'll get it right most of the time.

Usually, no.  But in this case, Abraham is a cert because he has already done it for us.  We know exactly what we'd be getting and what he would do for us.  He would be worth it.  He's proven.

Anyway, it is all moot now, anyway, because it looks very unlikely we will get Abraham now.

Aston Villa have seen a bid rejected for Bristol City defender Adam Webster, after the offer fell below the Robins’ valuation of the player.

The centre-back, who has also attracted interest from Villa’s Premier League rivals Newcastle United, only signed from Ipswich Town last summer when he agreed a £3.5m move and a four year deal.

It means that the Robins aren’t under any pressure to part with the centre-half, whose impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed in the top flight.

Offered reported to be around £12 million.
