I know a few struggled with the initial change but personally I think the phone version is cleaner and easier to use than ever before.

I guess the only way we can make it more active is by making more of an effort between us all.

Its not like we have a shortage of things to talk about at the minute, I'm starting to think most Villa fans have only got something to say if we're shite...a few early season spankings and the Forum will be buzzing with people calling for Smiths head.

I already have my thread prepared, it will b called....I TOLD YOU WE SHOULD HAVE KEPT BRUCE....I'll also run with it should Newcastle beat us:10_wink:

I admit I have not been on here much in the last few years, personal stuff in life, but also, not really interested in the vitriolic messages, much prefer the in depth commenting.

Would love the forum to stay, it is only the second one I have ever been on for Villa after the old email newsletters so keen for it to stay.

Used to love coming on this forum to debate and chat, it is a shame to see great members leave, think it did fall down due to one individual who could not accept differing views which lead to the demise

As mentioned, social media has taken over and i appreciate it must be expensive and take up quite a bit of time. Hope forum does pick up and i will try and pop on now and again when free

Ok so i didnt see this topic until today so i'll put my thoughts across on the subject...

As some might remember I used to be part of the furniture on this forum, first as a member getting the word around, then as a  mod and eventually admin before i decided to stop which was for many different reasons...,

In the very early days there were literally only a handful of active members, the forum was new, villa were on the rise and it made it easy to bring the numbers in, for the most part it was myself, The Aston Villian and a few other semi regular posters along with Stu and Karl.

Alot of free time and effort went into making the forum what it was, Often we would be sitting on the forums for days on end talking to ourselves for the most part... something that from my personal stand point went somewhat under appreciated, I went against the grain for some but we made it work in the end. Some things i will keep private as there are no gains in picking at old wounds but when i stopped using the forum, I was actually quite hurt for the way it ended for me here. It was tho i felt for the good of the group, friction was being created on the forum with some members and for the risk of being that guy that says i told you so, fact is, i seen what was coming, i didnt like or agree with the way it was going, i made my feelings clear and this is the result.

If the forum does close it will be a shame, some great people were met through the community, I will admit i took the place for granted at some points, I always felt it would be here anytime i wanted to come back, I didnt expect it to be some 3-4 years later but life takes over, habits change and what was a regular routine becomes nothing more than a memory. something that is true for alot that have come and gone im sure.

I just wanted to take the chance while the forum is still here to explain a little as to why i havent been around. I left with no fall outs with anyone which i can guarantee wouldnt of been the case had i stuck around. Added the fact i changed jobs which made it very difficult to attend games - my last season as a ST holder i missed 5-6 games altogether and failed to see a kick off for much of the season, another factor that with the growing ill feeling towards the forum made it an easy decision to step away for it.

My big regret tho which i want to make known here is that i completely cut everyone off, those that became friends here i simply ignored, I did become a bit of a recluse figure it was a difficult time for me mentally and i could of handled it all better, but thats a whole different story...  i can only apologise to those people who will know who they are.

So whats next? i see the topic as a couple of months old Stu, whats the situation?

Hello mate. Long time!

The forum is staying for now.. We are assessing things as we go along but we need to make it an active place again to make it worth while staying open.
