It was gruelling to watch at times and I thought we were very nervy again including Steer who looked uncomfortable but ended up being the hero with two fantastic saves.

Job done is all that matters but the coaching team really need to sort out some of the decisions that were made by the team like Hourihane taking a free that was more suited to Grealish, Abraham taking a free out of nowhere, corners short nearly every single time despite our goal threat from set pieces when the ball is put in the box and repeatedly making the same mistake over and over again playing it carelessly out from the back when we were under serious pressure.

Even with the red we kept trying long range shots or overdoing it around the box, the one ball that was whipped in from the side from Elmo nearly resulted in a goal.

The fact that we are even in a final though is all down to Smith turning the fortunes of the team around so no matter he's done a brilliant job and the players have shown brilliant character throughout so well done to all.

For the final I think this match showed Green is best used as an impact sub for now, always seems to cause problems when he comes on later in the game but can struggle a bit over a whole game.

On the corners - I can't remember what it was on but i remember a professional player saying that they are taught to hit the near post at corners for a few reasons. 1) The defence have less time to prepare to clear them. 2) it gives you the option to either head at goal or knock it on.

I agree - I don't feel we have played particulary well for a little while now but we have been grinding out results.

Just writing the preview for tomorrow.. We haven't beat them at their place in the last 7. Wow!

I love and hate games like this. I get so nervous and it just spoils it for me.

Do you think you need to man up a little ?

That explanation makes sense and I know we have a set piece specialist working with the team, I still think it became too predictable though and not well executed.
