Aston Villa 2-2 Hull City

Recommended Posts

Hard to look past a Hull win here. I was shocked the players weren't at it against Wigan with the positive news of Abraham staying. Nothing seems to give this lot a kick up the arse but surely we can't be any worse this week.

Would love to see Green and or two of the younger players become increasing involved.

Either way I just hope Smith can guide us through the current choppy waters, we have no alternative but to get behind him and the team.

"This is not possible. What McGrath is doing is just not possible with the amount of preparation that he's had."

EFL1 (Championship), Saturday 19/01/2019 : Aston Villa 2-2 Hull City

Going by my Twitter feed and the SSN Live Commentary it looks like a valiant comeback by AVFC, but one neccesitated by yet more defensive frailties and resulting in yet another draw. AVFC stay 12th pending the result of the late game today. A win would have lifted us to 8th, so it is another opportunity missed.

Per the SSN Live Commentary the attempts (including goals) were 6-5 & 12-6 = 18-11 to AVFC.

Attendance : 33,619 (SSN)

2 wins in 10 and a p*ss poor performance in the cup, for a team that has so much possession it takes some doing to have such a pathetic defensive record.

shocking first half  defence so fragile and very very suspect --just a continuation from last week at Wigan---so so disappointing after Smithy and several others had promised so much more---

Does Bolasie want to be here?  £75.000 a week hes having a laugh---Bolasie and Adomah were rightfully subbed Green posed more of a threat than both!!! --only then did we pick it up.and play the game in their half---and wtf was Birkir doing heading the f****g ball the wrong way?---

McGinn yet again was left to scrap and carry the game to Hull---where would we be without him?-----

does any of them excepting Tammy and McGinn actually care?----i seriously just dont know!!!

After this result AVFC's total Form Points fell from 65 to 64 ... that is, points after 46 games.
The maximum available is now 93 points, with 54 points left to play for.
AVFC stay above par and are 13th in the table, with 39 points and GD at +6 from 28 games.

Swansea won the late game and rose to 9th, pushing the teams below them down one place. If AVFC had won today then we would have been 8th, irrespective of Swansea's result. We are now 7 points off the play-off places.

Dean Smith said they were going to come out with intent after the drubbing at mighty Wigan--well what happened in the first half?the showing was as bad as at Wigan! Admittedly the second half was a big improvement but quite frankly it could,nt have been any worse.

What has caused such poor poor abject going through the motions performances since being cheated at albion?? surely it cant all be down to Jack and Axels absence -CAN IT??
