Aston Villa Football Club can confirm that Chief Executive, Keith Wyness, has been suspended by the club with immediate effect.

Owner and Chairman, Dr Tony Xia will assume the role until further notice.

There will be no further comment from the club at this time.

Have we got the money to pay the bill? thats what worries me. there is no reason the club couldn't do a BACS transfer today and save all this embarrassment.

I doubt an administrative cock up would end up getting you suspended.

I doubt it too, in truth, VG.

More serious reason(s) for this suspension will open a can of worms, which is never a pleasant experience (except for anglers).

I dread to think hope we not like Portsmouth or even worse Glasgow rangers.

Apparently, Wyness being suspended and the tax bill are not connected.

From what I have been told and I am not saying its true until the club confirms is that the only reason the tax bill hasn't been paid is that there is no-one in a position to sign the bill.

We will release a detailed statement in the next 24-48 hours and Xia is on route back to the UK.
