John Terry

How would everyone rate John Terry since his arrival?

My personal view is that it took him a few games to settle but he is really starting to step up. I was very impressed with him yesterday against Barnsley and go as far to say that it was his best performance in a Villa shirt.

Agreed looked great at the back, anything Barnsley threw at him he sorted out comfortably.

Still think we need to have Bree as RB, as he has young legs and will learn heaps off Terry while playing. Plus it give JT someone quick to help out his sometimes tired legs.

reckon he is settling in nicely now----rarely sends a pass astray---like how he looks for and finds midfield players----rather than scatters pigeons,

sent off a fine couple of long pin point balls against Boro--- has a terrfic reading of the game---knows where to be and intercepts to break up  a goal threat nicely-----hopefully he will start  his goal scoring account soon,

can see why he done so well at Chelski  and emerged as one of Englands best central defenders for quite some time,

captain leader legend-------definately,----hope he attains such accreditation whilst wearing The Claret and Blue---

Just hope it continues. Always liked JT and it was great when he signed for us but I don't want him to use it as a retirement home.

Nick Mashiter confirmed that he turned down a lot bigger wages from Birmingham to play for villa.

Wonder if we offered him a coaching role when he hangs up his boots hence why he came here for less wages ?

Doubt it very much. Can see him going back to Chelsea after his playing days. He still lives in London.

He is a winner and he's not short of a few quid so I think he has joined us as he believed he had a better chance of success.

28/03/2018 : If John Terry does retire at the end of this Season then it will be a big loss to AVFC whether we have gained promotion or not. The nature of JT's contract with AVFC contains its own Sunset Clause, irrespective of whether JT retires or not, in that he had and has no wish to play against Chelsea. If we gain promotion and to get JT to decide against retirement, maybe AVFC could offer JT a 'Chelsea Clause', excusing him from playing against Chelsea, thereby retaining his services and experience for the benefit of Aston Villa.

Skysports - John Terry's Aston Villa future yet to be discussed
