Newcastle and West Ham tax Investigation

Recommended Posts

Could they loose there premier league places because of it . Wasn't there a precedent with swindon a few years ago. Bad for us if  they are back in  the championship.  Apparently it's to do with them buying French players and the investigation will expand to other clubs.  Well we bought French players,  could we be next to be investigated and demoted.

What was it that sent Rangers to the bottom division? can't remember. Could that happen to them as well?

I would take a guess that with this investigation possibly set to expand any outcome may not be until the season after next, the authorities don't move too fast do they. Best case scenario is that several clubs suffer a huge points deduction the year we hopefully get back up, worst case we are involved and all teams involved are demoted Rangers style to the bottom rung.

Yes treb that club went  bust owing millions to creditors and the taxman. The money was never paid,  .it resurfaced   as newco / sevco , got kicked out the Scottish Prem , changed the name back to rangers football club , applied for Scottish league, but because of a vote by the other clubs were only allowed in at division 3.

In England the precedent for tax avoidance was set with swindon. In 1989 they won the div 2 play offs (championship) to get promotion to div 1 (premier league) , then demoted 2 divisions,  reduced to 1 on appeal.

More anti-Rangers claptrap from Patrick. Rangers did not 'go bust', it was the Club's old operating Company that was placed in liquidation and is involved in the ongoing Tax disputes with HMRC. The business of the Club continues through the new operating Company.
