some really good points brought up, discipline and respect should start at home. teachers are there to educate children not raise them.

Years ago there's no way on this earth any conscript would gob off to the Sgt Maj. Its not the shouting or the volume of his voice, its what the bugger would be saying that would make your arse drop, getting "shelled" by the Provo staff.......................you'd only gob off the once!

Times have changed, there's more duty of care towards soldiers nowadays, you cant make them "mark time" until their eyes bleed any more.

"MARK...... TIME" the worst command on the drill square, next to "step off to my timing" :doh:

There's plenty of delinquent lads joined the forces and done well. at 18 your just learning to become an adult so more would take to it than people think.
