Scottish Challenge Cup Round 4 (SF), Saturday, 28/11/2015 : Rangers 4-0 St Mirren

Rangers' second and probably last chance to win the Challenge Cup after this win. Despite the scoreline I thought our play was tedious at times, with lots of square and backward passing (maybe I am impatient !), but what the heck, it is the result that counts. Our goals were well worked and taken, it just makes me wonder how many more could have been scored with more direct play.

Attendance : 22,369 (Alba)

Match Report : Rangers FC - Rangers 4-0 St Mirren

Manager's verdict : Rangers FC - Warbs Thrilled To Be In Final

This BBC report shows yet again the ignorance (or wilful bias) of the reporter.

BBC - BDO seek to appeal Rangers tax case decision over use of EBTs

The decision was in relation to Murray Group companies, including the liquidated company RFC 2012 - formerly The Rangers Football Club PLC.

The Oldco has not been 'liquidated', if it had been liquidated it would not exist, FFS !!!

NOT true.

I have read the article, where do they say the Oldco 'has been liquidated' ?

The status of the Oldco is 'in liquidation', which is an ongoing process that may or may not result in the Oldco being liquidated.

I get sick of these fucktards who deliberately misrepresent the facts of this matter just to suit their own agenda. They are well aware that the status of the Oldco is in liquidation, but nevertheless constantly seek to mislead their readers by presenting their propaganda as 'facts'.

Come on Larry being in liquidation is the same as being liquidated ,, ,,whats your agenda ,,trying to kid us into believing rangers financial dealings are all above board

They  used  EBTS for ten years to avoid tax ,,, so all trophies or honours won in the period of 2001 -2011 should be wiped of the record books and Scottish Football history

HMRC has been vexed by the avoidance ploy for 15 years and brought in legislation in respect of disguised remuneration in 2011 to close the loopholes which the creators of EBT schemes had attempted to exploit to reduce the tax burden on their clients. BDO, representing the Rangers oldco which was liquidated in the summer of 2012, won the first two lower tribunal hearings which adjudicated on HMRC’s claim.

Quoting yet another report that gets it wrong does not make it right, Patrick !
If the Oldco had been 'liquidated' it would not exist.
If it does not exist then how come the Oldco is still engaged in the ongoing legal dispute with HMRC ?

4 November 2015
[1] The respondents are members of a group of companies whose ultimate parent company is Murray International Holdings Ltd.  The first respondent is a subsidiary holding company, and the other four respondents are members of what is referred to as the Murray Group of companies.  In tax years from 2001/02 to 2008/09 the respondents entered into a series of transactions pursuant to a scheme designed to avoid the payment of income tax and National Insurance contributions (“NICs”) in respect of their employees.  Those transactions have resulted in assessments by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (“HMRC”) to income tax under the Pay As You Earn (“PAYE”) system and corresponding NICs.  The respondents appealed against those assessments.  Their appeal was heard before the First-tier Tribunal, who on 29 October 2012 upheld the appeal; that was the decision of a majority of the First-tier Tribunal (Mr Kenneth Mure, QC, and Scott Rae, WS); the third member of the Tribunal, Dr Heidi Poon, CA, dissented.  The appellant appealed to the Upper Tribunal (Lord Doherty), which on 8 July 2014 refused the appeal and on 22 August 2014 granted permission to appeal on one ground to the Court of Session.  Following that determination the appellant, who represents HMRC, has appealed to the Court of Session. The first to fourth respondents are now in liquidation and the fifth respondents, RFC 2012 PLC, are now the only party opposing the appeal. We should note that, although the appeal relates to NICs as well as income tax, it is a matter of agreement that our decision on the income tax issue will apply equally to NICs; consequently the discussion is confined to income tax and the PAYE system.

SECOND DIVISION, INNER HOUSE, COURT OF SESSION

SPFL2 (Championship) Tuesday, 01/12/2015 : Rangers 4-0 Dumbarton

Get the opening goal and the game opens up. Holt's 47th minute opener led to a second half of open flowing play, which was in marked contrast to the first, which saw Rangers trying to find a way through Dumbarton's eight man defence !
Rangers scored three more goals after Holt's, from Waghorn, Oduwa and Halliday's penalty to seal the win which means we are now 3 points ahead of Hibernian, with both teams having played 15 games.

Attendance : 37,182 (SSN)

Match Report : Rangers FC - Rangers 4 Dumbarton 0

Manager's verdict : Rangers FC - Half-Time Words Work Magic
