Can't see Milner being realistic bit can see Micah Richards being an option .

Joey Barton as a nasty up and at em option maybe .

In fairness a lot of dross in that list .

In a perfect world Milner, Richards, ings, cleverley.

Only one I can't see being realistic is Milner tbh

Some insane suggestions on here already. My humble opinions:

  • Joey Barton is like a disease in the dressing room and a skidmark on the club's rep outside of it...no!
  • We need to be realistic and understand that Benteke may not be with us after the summer - Ings and James Wilson would be my choices for a goalscorer.
  • Jon Flanagan is a great talent and would definitely get in at full back, Ryan Taylor isn't a bad defender but not so sure on him.
  • Gael Kakuta is a younger, better, slimmer, less moody N'Zogbia - good move.
  • I'd consider a backup option, given that Guzan or Given will move on. Loads to choose from there for a No.2 'keeper - Boruc?
  • Cleverly needs to happen

Wouldn't want drogba mate - way past his best now , the others all are decent enough but some more realistic than others .

No Richards ak mate?

I am a fan of him but with Vlaar looking like he may sign a new deal i think i would stay away, bit injury prone, high wages and i dont see him as a Sherwood kind of guy. Would be a gamble

Two year deal 50k a week, may be worth a punt. Maybe it's because he's English but I somehow prefer him to vlaar

You think? It all depends how many suitors he has I guess, I don't think he'll be short on offers. To be fair I'd probably replace Vlaar with him, younger and quicker

Ings. No-one else is good enough or realistic enough on that list.

Ings will probably go to Liverpool if they don't get Benteke.

When benteke goes I'd expect it to be better than Liverpool he goes to - hopefully sherwood will prove as astute in the transfer market as he has been on the touch line

Where could you see Benteke going mate? Premiership or abroad?

Think he would be great at any of the top clubs in the Premiership and good enough to play for many top European clubs - sneaking feeling for inter Milan .

For me if he goes it will be to a Premiership side such as Liverpool or Arsenal.

If Fox's ambition about making us great again is true then we don't want to be letting out best players go, otherwise we'll never catch up with the top paying clubs...

Dont think he will be going Inter Milan. Said it a couple of months ago that if he starts scoring he will go Man Utd and i still think that will happen either this summer or next

I agree we need to keep him not cash in on him

We may not have a choice. Contracts mean feck all now if the player wants to leave.

I think Tim will have the conversation that will go along the lines of

"Look you could join Liverpool this season, or maybe even Arsenal, they may pay you more than here, but how long until you're bigger than them, you're playing great football here, with fans who love watching you play, hold out until the real big big boys come knocking, the likes of Real need an overhaul, Bayern need an overhaul, United need a good forward in the next 2 years, Aguero's going to leave City who will replace him? You need to hold out for the right bid not just any bid!"

There are a few young players I think we should be interested in, Amos, Wilson, Garbutt and Flanagan are 4, but they need to play football to develop rather than sit on the bench and I don't know if they are good enough to play week in week out.

As for some of the others, Drogba no, past it he'd struggle to score in the championship with total lack of pace, actually wouldn't be surprised to see Chelski make a bid for Benteke. Johnson will want too much money and we already have a good attacking FB who can't really defend in Bacuna. Not sure about Richards, never lived up to his potential and I can see someone like Liverpool paying him stupid wages to sit in the medical centre getting treatment. Borac is past it, he was never that good in the first place and he wants to play not be a sub. I wouldn't touch Barton with Lambert's.

Garbutt is fantastic. A cheaper (and better imo) option than Robertson, who we have recently been linked with. Flanagan? Maybe. Ings a definite but will go to Liverpool. Cleverley is a must. Amos is a decent prospect, but we need someone to come straight into the team. If we could get just one out of Wilson, Richards, Milner and/or Guidetti, id be happy
