We went close a couple times in the first half as well though dude, I thought sterling's shot went in it was that close.

We need to start being more ruthless, certain players need to find that killer instinct that they have in the premiership.

Also agree with Rooney totally, out of position or not. he had a job to do, and didn't do it. Also missed the best chance we had

Il give you the Sterling chance and the rooney missed one but i felt Italy could have stepped it up a few more gears if need be

Bare in mind Buffon and Di Sciglio were out so 2 big players as Chillini and Barzagli would have dealt with Sturridge

Perfect player for that role was Jay Rordiguez and even if he was fit he wouldnt have gone mate

Surely last night showed how poor Baines is as a LB and that not taking Cole was huge mistake

I would have taken Cole, we don't have many left footed players and i would have been playing Cole and Baines on the left for some time now with Shaw in reserve. In the absence of an outstanding left winger a full back who can attack for me is the next best option.

Passing accurancy so far in the world cup.....England are second only behind Italy.

Passing accuracy in the opposition half we are top. we also have more shots on goal than any team so far.

Doesn't sound too defensive to me dude.

Passing accuracy in the opposition half, but what do you actually do with the ball though?

Ivory Coast are top with 19 attempts with England second with 18, dont know how as there was hardly any clear cut chances for England other then shots from outside the box which hardly troubled Sirigu

Italy are a tough side to break down, they won't be smashed 5-1 at this world cup, we do need to start being more intuitive though. But it just goes to show, we weren't that bad. I think with the right players starting we'll do well

With Palleta at CB, Chiellini at LB and Sirigu in goal, Italy were there for the taking

With the right players and the right manager England would do well, but you got keep Rooney happy as he sells shirts and makes money

That's the fa's fault though, major changes are needed at the top. For now, we have to work with what we have. I can't believe someone like Rooney will become our highest ever goalscorer.

I'd imagine after this tournament unless he pulls his finger out, with former players and BBC pundits getting on his back then it may force change
