You don't know this though do you? All we know is the purse strings have been tightened. You said the other day that you know he's looking for a buyer so surely it would make sense that he wants to sp

It's not the outlay on transfers that's the problem. Lerner knows of he pays £1m on 17 players he knows he'll probably make that money back when they're sold. Wages are money down the drain unless you

You posted before that you cant stream the games so you basically dont watch Villa unless they are on Sky or BT sports then?

I wont judge any players if i havent actually seen them play, i watch a lot of footie so i give my opinion(hence why i post on this site). Doesnt make me a talent scout does it so you stop being childish. Nobody i know that has seen Tonev play can say he is a good player and worth his wages at Villa, everyone has there own opinion fair enough. 15K a week should get you atleast a shot on target from a player not row AA, just my opinion obviously

I've got sh*t Internet at my house but when I'm in Cornwall I has access to decent Internet, also didn't realise that watching games on tele doesn't count as seeing them. Also pretty sure there's a few people I this thread who have agreed with me so that's a lie.

So other than the two you mentioned who fit into the youth player coming up mould who else is there??

When I was just a little boy i asked my mother what shall i beee.

Wes Hoolahan would be a great deal......still very cheap though. Not sold on Tonev by any stretch but I wouldn't give up on him yet.

In Lambert's defence he did say he would like to get to the stage where he can buy a couple of players rather than trying to sign 7 in one go to create a bigger squad. I don't think Tonev is the worst signing in the world but for someone who is obviously paid a substantial amount of money I have the opinion Tonev was a lazy recommendation signing rather than maybe looking at other options but who knows!

hoolahan has came on leaps & bounds since his spell in scotland as a youngster for livingstone,.would be a decent signing at least ye would be getting an out & out winger who'l run to the byline & whip in a cross

He had a great game against us last year. Fits the Lambert mold of a player, works hard. I would be happy with his signing at a low price. Still discouraging though that we are only looking at cheap deals.

Wes Hoolahan? Wayne Routledge? Yannick Bolasie? Nathan Redmond?

There is a few off the top of my head, if i had a big scouting team(Lambert does) then i could list many more aswel

Hoolahan was not in the Norwich squad today so he wont be cup tied for us, oh wait that doesnt matter anymore now
If he is the answer to our needs we might as well all stop following football.

I was impressed with Hoolahan when Norwich played us last season but as I don't watch them that often it's hard to judge his consistency, but if he's that good why would Norwich let him leave for one of their rivals for a small fee ?

It's the excess players at the rich clubs we ought to be chasing, they are the ones likely to be a class above what we already have.
