Beware of your 'friends' : Rangers FC - Club Statement - Dave King 'Trust Fund'

... and : Skysports - Rangers board urge fans to ignore launch of 'Ibrox 1972 Fund'

... but at least Imran Ahmed has been told to GTF ... by the Court of Session.

As for our 'Good Friends', they now have the initiative in the U20s League :

celtic wearing their yearly famine memorial crest

TO mark the Great Hunger, Celtic will once more be wearing the National Famine Memorial Day logo on the Hoops when they take to the field this Sunday for the trophy day meeting with Dundee United.

Unquestionably, the Great Hunger was a transforming event in Ireland, which changed the demographic and cultural landscape forever.

Indeed, there is nothing else in the history of the Irish people that can be likened to the Great Hunger, either for its immediate impact, or its legacy of emigration, cultural loss and decline of the Irish language.

Jimmy Deenihan, TD, Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht said: "As Chair of the National Famine Commemoration Committee, I warmly welcome the tireless efforts of the many communities and organisations abroad to commemorate the victims of the Great Famine and to enlighten new generations about the terrible plight of the Irish people who suffered and perished or emigrated during this tragic period in our nation's history.

“I now call on you to join with the people of Ireland in observing a minute of silent reflection on Sunday, May 11, in honour of all those who suffered loss of life, loss of home and loss of family during this time.

“We also honour the extraordinary achievements of the Diaspora - all those whose instinct for survival and will to live brought them to new and distant places where their determination to survive in the most difficult of circumstances inspired them to leave their mark in the new societies in which they settled.

“We must always strive to ensure that the devastating events of the famine are never forgotten and that the extraordinary contributions of those who emigrated and of their many descendents abroad are justly celebrated.

“We have come such a long way since that desolate time, but it is important that we do not forget our past and the experiences that have shaped us as a people.

“Today, we extend the same genuine compassion and generosity to those who are suffering from hunger, disease and poverty in the modern world.

“This spirit of empathy has transcended the generations to become embedded in the Irish psyche - it defines us as a people. This is the only way that we can truly honour the victims of the past."

There has been a football famine at Hibernian, the 'cunning plan' has succeeded to date.

SPL : Hibernian 0 - 1 Kilmarnock {10/05/2014} - this leaves Hibs in the relegation play-off spot.

All Hibs need to do now is lose the play-offs and they will be in the money next Season !

SPL last 6 as at 10/05/2014, final table for Season 2013-2014.
07 Ross County........ 38 11 7 20 44 62 -18 40
08 St Mirren.......... 38 10 9 19 39 58 -19 39
09 Kilmarnock......... 38 11 6 21 45 66 -21 39
10 Partick Thistle.... 38 8 14 16 46 65 -19 38

11 Hibernian.......... 38 8 11 19 31 51 -20 35
12 Heart of Midlothian 38 10 8 20 45 65 -20 38 - 15 = 23

If it was not for the 15 point deduction applied to Heart of Midlothian, Hibernian would be bottom and Heart of Midlothian would be in the relegation play-off spot instead, there due to an inferior goal difference of one goal.

Who would have thunk it ?
