Discuss Nicklas Helenius' Aston Villa career here.

can you imagen him and benteke up front? if Helenius can play as a second striker in behind the Belgian the height alone would be devastating!

Competition for places will make us stronger as it keeps the players eager to put a shift in.

gratz, on ur debut and at such a crucial time we are having striker probs, keep it up and we will back u 100%

Was great to read that one of the new guys put one away. I know its all about fitness etc but it must let him breath a bit easier knowing we can score in our system.....

apparently he might be goin out on loan according to his agent, or will atleast be asking for it come january. not cutting it in the premier league, and was always gona be difficult to be anything more than an impact sub with the choices we have upfront

knee jerk panic purchase during Bentekegate...clearly not up to it based on his performances. This may do him some good to get some regular football time.

i would love to be able to comment on his performance but tbh if hes played 90mins in total i be surprised. i think ur right on the panic buy though, i was reading that a danish journalist was saying he is about 2 levels lower than the premier league after we bought him but was saying okore was pretty much perfect.

where would he get loaned out to is really the question though. heard some say that hes pretty woeful in reserves too.... back to denmark with him?? hardly gonna boost him up if we want him back in the pl next season

Mystery solved, from the Crystal Palace v Aston Villa thread :

Beat me to it regarding Helenius, but I'll post this anyway.

AVFC - Trio expected back for Palace/Helenius trains this week

It was a strain of his thigh abductor muscle that sidelined Helenius.

Fabian Delph, Gabby Agbonlahor and Karim El Ahmadi.

Helenius is likely to be off back to denmark in the summer.

Not surprised, but dissappointed by his lack of appearances.

Probably for the best.

Strange, both him and corneleas have been poor in the PL.

Perhaps the PL is too big step up from the danish superliga for strikers.

It has to go down as Lambert's worse moment in the transfer market. It reminds me of Mike Bassett when he brought a striker from youtube!

It's a shame for the lad, he never really got his chance and he obviously was not inspiring in training. Best of luck to him for his future.
