Di Canio Appointed Sunderland Manager

I am in no way trying to defend di canio or facism but to me the uproar about his political beliefs from the likes of milliband are hypocritical in the extreme, he comes from a communist background. Why is facism wrong but communism ok ? when you cut through all the bullshit they both boil down to the same thing......they murder those who disagree with them.

I must of missed that history lesson....hitler/mussolini = evil......stalin/mao = good

It seems your political views will be held against you if you wish to be a football manager but strangely it has no bearing on being a polititian.

How is David milliband a communist??

Don't think Milliband's a commy but it's a complete load of shite anyhow. Milliband's off to the States to get paid £300,000 a year to fight poverty in Africa FFS and would therefore probably have had to resign from his position at Sunderland regardless of Di Canio's appointment.

IMO someone's political beliefs should effect them in the way it has Di canio IF like his are they are totally immoral and bring his character into question AND they are in the public eye like he is.

I'm sorry but the guy has to be either stupid, mental or unbelievable arrogant to go out and say stuff like he did and expect it not to effect him, thing is I think he's a mixture of all 3

Ok maybe a little unfair to say david milliband is a commie, but his family were. As for his political beliefs....they seem to be the same as all other polititians.......look after no. 1

Di canio is a football man who has said and done some stupid things but should he really be denied the right to earn a living ? This whole storm was started by milliband so he could play up to his public, as anne said he would have been leaving anyway.

Maybe the bigger question should be why does a man running an anti poverty in africa charity have to live in new york and be paid £300,000 a year ( plus expenses no doubt ) and what are the special skills that he brings to the table ? or is it as i suspect a job for one of the lads.

Surely as a very rich man already the least a true socialist would do is just take a little for expenses.

I'm not going to get into a typical debate but ice had this conversation with a few people lately, why does being a socialist mean you have to be skins and reject any highly paid jobs?? It doesn't.. Socialism is about doing what's right for the majority, if a man can earn a billion quid fair play, but if a man earns a billion quid and get another billion quid given to him by the government whilst others are suffering then its not on. Anyway bit off topic, as for do Canio maybe he shouldn't be denied a living and he clearly hasn't as he has a very well paid job in the public eye, but in the same vein people shouldn't be denied the right to display their disgust, if millibars hadn't made a deal of it he would have only had people pointing out that he's welcomed a fascist with open arms. It's all bollocks but IMO the only person in the wrong is di Canio.

Milliband did it for self publicity, nothing else. Give him a few years in NY no doubt never to far from the headlines and he will be back. He is a career politician as they all are now, the only thing he believes in is himself. A richman can earn what he wants in the business world, but he is working for a charity and taking a huge salary out of the mouths of africas poor.

Sunderland have had to wheather a storm this week because of milliband, the last thing they need at present but it makes him look like a man of principle so he'll do it anyway.

What gets me is on the television and radio they no longer say Sunderland they say Paolo Di Canios Sunderland just like they did when he was the Swindon manager. It's like they are making out he is bigger than the club.
