  1. Agree with this 110%. I don’t want to get into criticising former managers but at times our transfer policy (if there ever was an actual policy) seemed absolutely desperate, like throwing a jelly against the wall hoping something would stick. The amount of players we have signed over the last few seasons that haven’t worked out is frightening, especially given their salaries, which as we saw over the last Summer very nearly sank our beloved club forever. This was never going to be sustainable, and personally I would much rather us patiently build success rather than trying to buy it. I feel much more confident with Dean in place as Head Coach, with the necessary structure around him, rather than the traditional manager figure overseeing everything, being left to his own devices. Coaching should be at the very heart of the development of our club, and listening to recent interviews from Purslow, this is now exactly what we are doing.
  2. I have to agree with the sentiment of a number on the posts here that the loan system should not form part of our future vision, unless the loan has a favourable option to buy such as the El Ghazi deal. This approach will always leave us in a transient state of constant rebuilding, never really having a settled side we can call our own. This season seems particularly fraught with the current fashion of recalling players, potentially providing us with a crisis mid-season, with the possibility of losing a striker who could easily score 30 goals for us this season. Personally I would like to see a clear route for our own academy players from the U23’s into the first team. Grealish has clearly demonstrated what can be achieved with patience and opportunity.
