    Aston Villa 2-0 Rotherham

As freddy says I though Hourihane and McGinn did well together. Not very convincing but an important and good win nonetheless. Bolasie and Abraham could do real damage. It feels like last season where Bruce might fumble on the right team but credit for making changes. Defence still seems really uncomfortable to me and Bruce is only fooling himself if he thinks we will get away with Jedinak against better teams.

    Blackburn 1-1 Aston Villa

Relying on individual brilliance, our only tactic. No other championship team can bring on Bolasie, Kodjia and Hourihane off the bench, it's ridiculous. Not good enough again.

John Terry to sign for Spartak Moscow.

Hard to know if we will pursue this but a real shame if we don't. It's very simple, Terry will significantly improve us. Seems De Laet is leaving on loan, never given a chance. Bruce has been making strange decisions for some time now and the defensive mess is entirely his own fault.

8! even worse then I thought. People like Lansbury were signed as first team players by Bruce and have regressed since joining us. Is the coaching poor? were they scouted properly? can they not cope with the expectation? I honestly don't know. Something just never seems quite right with Villa and player development. Players often leave and become better, but rarely players come here and improve.

Not the end of the world in the overall context but that's embarrassing. Must be 6 or 7 of Bruce's signings playing in that match. We've been lucky all season and in some cases like tonight and Ipswich we can't even take advantage of luck handed our way.

    The Loan Market

With you all the way on this. I know it might not match the owners philosophy but we will not find a better defender. We look a mess at the back, Bruce clearly has no faith in Elphick and Jedinak is a bomb scare back there yet Bruce keeps pushing that failed experiment. We were brilliant going forward at times last night but you always fear a mistake at the back.

    Ipswich Town 1-1 Aston Villa

So much for improving from Yeovil like Bruce promised. Players out of position again and lumping the ball against 10 men. So far both keepers look a disaster. An experienced championship keeper wouldn't have been hard to sign but so far the signs are we fecked up. We don't have time to wait for either keeper to improve. Unbeaten at least but serious improvement needed.

    Yeovil Town 0-1 Aston Villa

We were terrible but a win is a win and keeps the momentum going I guess. Senior pros were awful which really didn't help the younger lads, good learning experience for them. It was obvious Bruce was fuming so hopefully a good kick up the arse before the weekend. I thought the keeper was incredibly rash and based on the last 2 games I wouldn't be confident in either keeper which is a huge concern when we are not as strong without Terry at the back.

Really good chance for those in and around the first team to make an impression, hoping for a strong performance from the likes of Hepburn-Murphy if he starts. Really excited for this!

Fair play Klein, glad you had a good time and experienced a victory!

Why does Bruce keep pushing Jedinak centre back. It just doesn't work. Stupidity from Bruce once again.

    Summer Transfer Rumours 2018

Brilliant window especially when you consider how things were a few weeks ago. Keeping Chester and Grealish who is our biggest asset in getting promoted is as good as we could have hoped for. McGinn it sounds like should bring some much needed energy to our midfield. I feel the new owners have sent out a very positive statement of intent by keeping hold of Grealish. It was clear Tottenham were trying to vastly underpay what Grealish is worth and they used the media to try and force the move. They can go and do one. We can still bring players in on loan and I imagine we will though I'd much rather push our own players then bring another Onomah in.

    Hull City 1-3 Aston Villa

Magic, brilliant start to the season! Defensively I wasn't that confident compared to last season but it was something of a makeshift back line. I thought Steer did well though. If we can keep Grealish no reason we can't challenge again. Delighted with some of the subs Bruce made, good to see Green and Hepburn-Murphy brought in.

I wouldn't want to see Hutton centre back. I don't think Bruce rates Lansbury at all or Bjarnason much despite being his own signings. I think he's more likely to go with Whelan over either.
