  1. Ipswich v Aston Villa

Always weary of a McCarthy side. Criminally underrated manager who has done a magnificent job with tiny resources. When you look at how he guided them to the play-offs two seasons ago and consistently competed for them, one can only assume a lot of Ipswich fans are morons. We have to hit 3 out 3 wins now just in case.
  2. Aston Villa 1-0 Cardiff

What a goal from Grealish, he deserved that. He was hacked to bits all match as was to be expected from a Warnock team. It's a pleasure to watch him play. Lucky to have a player of his quality at this level!
  3. Aston Villa 3-0 Reading

Very important win. Hourihane's goals are such an asset to the team! Well done to Bikir and Hogan too. Important we finish the season with some momentum especially going into the play-offs and with the outside chance of automatic.
  4. Bruce: What we need

I think we have enough about us to secure the play offs but not a chance of automatic. I'm so disappointed with how we've fallen apart since Wolves, much of it self inflicted through poor selection and tactics. This team is nearly there but not quite in the same league as some of those around us like Wolves or Fulham and ultimately I don't think we will be good enough to go straight up. I'd fear for us up against a Fulham or even once of the in form teams like Preston in the play offs. They would be positive and take the game to us where we would no doubt set up negatively with little ambition to win the games.
  5. Bolton 1-0 Aston Villa

Important there is a strong reaction today and I expect nothing less then a win. Important he gets the balance right with changes today, the team has been good overall. Tuesday was the the time to freshen it up and Bruce screwed up big time. It's not rocket science, he just needed to rest the likes of Jedinak for Bikir and Hourihane for Lansbury.
  6. Aston Villa 4-1 Wolves

Unbelievable, performance of the season. I f*cking love Villa. Villa park was rocking, fans need to make it a fortress for the run in!
  7. Aston Villa 4-1 Wolves

Really unsure on this one. A lot will come down to the right selection and our approach. We can't afford to be brushed aside like we were earlier in the season. Similarly we were dreadful against Fulham. If we're serious about promotion we need a big win!
  8. Sunderland 0-3 Aston Villa

Regardless of how bad Sunderland are a 3-0 win away from home is as good as it gets. Well done Villa, bring on Wolves! A few of us myself included questioned Hourihane's overall performance in recent times but he's banging in some amount of goals and has to be one of the first names to start, great stuff.
  9. Do you want promotion?

You know it's bad when even a money hungry taxi man says no no no mate that's just the time lol
  10. Do you want promotion?

Lol not my finest moment, anything less then 18:40 or so sounds reasonable to me
  11. Do you want promotion?

It's definitely been interesting to visit places like Nottingham and Leeds and to feel like the big team that everyone wants to beat. Ultimately I don't want to stay here but Villa winning matches after a few miserable seasons has been refreshing, then again every time I travel over they still lose so it doesn't seem to matter much either feckin way for me.
  12. Sheff Wed 2-4 Aston Villa

I think the lumping forward is the only thing we can be certain of! Again I agree though and wouldn't be against trying Grabban and he's a better finisher then Davis will ever be. Hourihane looks a touch off the pace at the moment alrite, I think Bruce is reluctant to change the midfield which looked settled and strong for a while but I think it would be no harm to leave him out for a game.
  13. Sheff Wed 2-4 Aston Villa

Agree with everything you say on Davis but I would play him purely for the function of supporting Hogan. Let's face it we're going to be lumping the ball a ball a lot especially away so we may as well have a target man up there. The amount of times we punted it up to Hogan against Fulham and it would just come straight back. I think it was tried earlier in the season when Hogan was way off form wise so I'd be interested to see how it might work now. It could be simple but very effective.
  14. Sheff Wed 2-4 Aston Villa

Bruce got the last 2 selections wrong and he can't afford to make the same mistakes again. Would love to see 4-4-2, Hogan playing off Davis. If the formation is the same O'Hare has to come in and occupy the Grealish role. He set up for Preston like it was an away game, we have to be more positive.
