    Aston Villa cash crisis

I think we'll be doing well to keep him to be honest but Levy can't screw us now. We need to be strong with this, I really think we should be demanding towards 40million.

    Aston Villa cash crisis

Agree with you on this. It gets the ball rolling on these guys taking full control you would think and it stops the immediate danger of administration. Cautious, but good news for now.

    Summer Transfer Rumours 2018

Hopefully nothing will come of Marney training with us, like we need another injury prone ageing central midfielder.

    Grealish to go

We simply must keep Grealish. Every other club seems to be able to find ways around the FFP and I'm hopeful things will settle down at Villa. I really do believe Grealish will be happy to stay for another season and we should do everything possible to make it happen. When/if the times comes to leave good luck to him but last season was his first consistent season and staying here playing as the main man can only be good for his continued development. We should be looking to offload players like Neil Taylor and Elmohamedy who are bog standard average but would still surely attract interest.

    Steve Bruce

I fear people will turn on Bruce if things don't start well but he could be a steady pair of hands given the serious problems that seem to be unfolding. It seems we can forget about promotion already which is pretty depressing but the safety of the club is the most important thing going forward.

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Aston Villa

Brilliant victory. Despite lots of possession boro posed very little threat and I though defensively we bossed it. Grealish was excellent again despite being kicked about as usual. We caused lots of problems in the first half and but for that Randolph save it would have been 2-0. The only danger is we try and sit on it for 90 mins on Tuesday. If we start like we did most of the second half we will throw it away. We need to be confident on Tuesday and resist sitting in deep.

    Championship

Not even a criticism of Bruce to be honest, more a mixture of disappointment that more young players haven't stepped up and that we haven't tried to blood one or two more whether here or out on loan. Honestly I haven't seen enough to judge if O'Hare is good enough but players like him who are close but not close enough should be loaned out in my opinion. Success with U23 teams and youth teams seems to have very little bearing on players making the grade, certainly at Villa anyway.

    Championship

Just curious, regardless of what happens in the next few weeks has anyone enjoyed playing in this division over the premier league? I'm not saying I want to stay here but honestly I have found it refreshing to see Villa winning games again. Watching Grealish at his best this season for example has been a joy! I mentioned it to some of the lads when over but I feel really out of the premier league loop and not that interested in terms of knowing what's really happening and the money going about for bog standard players is crazy, not that it doesn't happen in this division either but Warnock and Cardiff showed you can still assemble a good team shrewdly and without huge resources in this division. I've enjoyed seeing Villa at different places though I appreciate the novelty will wear off. The only thing that has disappointed me is that we haven't seen players like O'Hare emerge and I think that's a real opportunity missed.

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Aston Villa

You always worry Bruce might drop a clanger with his selection and we haven't coped very well with games in quick succession. I think we should beat them over the course of 2 legs though.

    Millwall 1-0 Aston Villa

Normally I would go with keeping momentum and not changing things much but in this case and after a long season when we are able to make a few changes we really should and we have looked tired at times this season. Would like to see O'Hare and Davis involved. As for the pitch invasion I trust our grizzly old veterans like Pat, Corny and B6 to sort it out and protect Johnstone

    Aston Villa 1-1 Derby

Agree that it has to be a full strength team, unlikely but you never know. Keep winning games and keep confidence high.

    Villa back safe standing

Would be a brilliant move. The English game has become so sanitised and is turning into a sky soap opera. The only noise you get is from away fans these days who of course stand. Standing works and can be done safely, Germany as ever being the best example. It would also mean cheaper tickets.

    Ipswich 0-4 Aston Villa

Always weary of a McCarthy side. Criminally underrated manager who has done a magnificent job with tiny resources. When you look at how he guided them to the play-offs two seasons ago and consistently competed for them, one can only assume a lot of Ipswich fans are morons. We have to hit 3 out 3 wins now just in case.

    Aston Villa 1-0 Cardiff

What a goal from Grealish, he deserved that. He was hacked to bits all match as was to be expected from a Warnock team. It's a pleasure to watch him play. Lucky to have a player of his quality at this level!
