  1. Okay, I thought super franky said he wanted one in before he would sanction an exit. but if he can just leave we should pursue this strongly, proven scorer at this level. Giroud will be playing hard to get in the French team for the euros.
  2. Giroud would be an excellent signing in our current predicament, however we can't afford to wait around to see if Chelsea decide to release him.
  3. Would love it if we signed Bowen, looks a really good prospect, certainly better than Trez or Ghazi.
  4. Agree with the above, not bothered about going out as it eases the fixture list and good to see Vassilev and Ramsey get some game time. Much more interested in our PL fixtures.
  5. Would like a good cup run but we have to prioritise our league games. Give some younger players an opportunity.
  6. Aston Villa have been tipped to reignite their summer interest in Stoke City keeper Jack Butland, according to reports in the national press. Heaton is set for an extended spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury in their New Year’s Day win over Burnley. No official confirmation has been released on the severity of his injury, but there are fears the England international could miss the rest of the season.
  7. That is a fantastic win. Well done villa, now lets try to build on this unexpected 3 points.
  8. Good luck to the villa today, think we'll need it. Happy new year to my fellow villans.
  9. I believe he got injured in some scuffle at a nightclub, which has led to him being out most of this season. ENGLAND’S Danny Drinkwater was battered by thugs after trying to bed another footballer’s lover. The Chelsea star, 29, on loan at Burnley, clashed with the player after boozing heavily at Manchester’s Chinawhite club. This was in September so during the season, doesn't sound like a good fit for Villa.
  10. Aston Villa are reportedly showing an interest in signing midfielder Danny Drinkwater on loan during the January transfer window. According to Sky Sports , Villa are keen to bring in an experienced midfielder to act as cover for the injured John McGinn, with the Scotland international expected to be out until March with a fractured ankle. Drinkwater is currently spending the first half of the season on loan at Burnley from Chelsea, with his spell due to end on January 6. Link: Sky Sports
  11. Reports are varied about our ffp position with certain media suggesting we need to sell in the January window. What is obvious is that relegation will be a massive issue for villa regarding ffp. Grealish, McGinn and Mings will want to leave and clubs will be circuling to pick our best players up for a minimal fee. Clauses in contracts are irrelevant in this scenario as we will need to comply with ffp to avoid a points deduction penalty (a work colleague supports Sheffield Wed and says they are facing a 21 point penalty for breaches to ffp). Last summer spurs were talking 20-25 mil
  12. Do you feel they would overlook relegation and the massive impact FFP would have on us. It would also stop the new planned development at the ground as that is based on us being in the PL. It wouldn't surprise me if they stubbornly backed DS to the detriment of the club, even though he is clearly out of his depth.
  13. Spot on Freddy, he read the riot act and got absolutely no response. He's also moaning about Watford not stopping to put the ball out of play, we should have had a free kick leading up to their third. Just excuses, this is his team, his selections, his formation, his tactics, his substitutions, his responsibility as MANAGER. Taxi for DS.
  14. We have assembled an expensive team with very little premiership experience, coupled with a manager and assistant who also have no premiership experience and a rookie coach in Terry who again has no experience at this level for managing/coaching. The result is there for all to see.
  15. Opposition wants it more, we are weak. Not holding out much hope for a result at Burnley.
  16. You'll get no argument from me dorset. I hope they sack him, however I would be surprised if they made such a big call.
  17. Then we are fucked because I can't see the board sacking him because of losing face over the new contract they decided to reward DS.
  18. Smith needs to be sacked, today. We are totally f**cking fucked.
  19. I feel the next two games, away to Watford and Burnley are massive games for Villa. Two difficult games and I just feel both oppositions are hungrier than Villa. We really need a minimum of 4 points from these 2 but that will be a big ask for this Villa team.
  20. Needed the 3 points, got the 3 points. All that matters.
  21. Rafa would be big money. (Not opposed to the idea) Whilst I would favour replacing DS, I believe management will back him as it makes them look incredibly stupid when they've just awarded DS a new 4 year contract. I read that DS will be backed with extra money in the January window to strengthen the squad. But before that can happen we play Norwich, Watford and Burnley which will have a massive impact on the remainder of the season.
  22. I would certainly reinstate Konsa, was surprised to see him omitted from the Southampton game. And it seems obvious to me we need to play a system which works around playing Grealish (our best player) in the most effective manner, to help him impact the game.
  23. I was looking at the options available to DS and they are very limited. He can either bring Trezeguet or Kodjia in and that's it realistically. Poor recruitment, we went in to the season at least a striker light. Now were left looking down the barrel. I don't believe he has a Plan A, never mind a Plan B, he could also do with making substitutions before were 3-0 down and the game lost.
  24. Must win, otherwise we really are up S£$T creek without a paddle.
  25. Agree 100% with you B6, completely out of his depth. People will point to him getting us promoted, I suggest he will get us relegated. Managers are judged on the here and now not what they've done in the past, case in point being Pochettino. It will also cost us Grealish and McGinn. However we have stupidly just given him a new four year contract. I am so frustrated as I honestly believe at the time we sacked SB we could have got Brendan Rodgers. Smith out.
