  1. Not arrogance, rather fact. Liverpool, Man City etc are very different propositions to Hamilton Academical. Don't get me wrong he looks a very promising player but he is unproven at a high level. Van Dijk accepted, the others however I would question, Dembele in France is not Serie A, La Liga or the Bundesliga so again I would say there is a question mark IMO. Armstrong in and out of a Southampton team that possibly underachieved this season, a good squad player IMO. Whilst McGinn had an 'alright' season taking into account he suffered a bad-ish injury which affected.
  2. Personally would rather see if a deal could be done for ABRAHAM. ODSONNE still unproven IMO.
  3. Dimi, Rangers were employing a boxing tactic known as the 'rope a dope'. Lulling you into a false sense of security, then triggering our cunning plan to win all our remaining fixtures 77-0 whilst Celtic failed to register any further points for the remainder of the season. Thus, Celtic did not legitimately win the title.
  4. Larry, You forgot the * next to Celtic (it doesn't count).
  5. No probs Dorset, Olsen is the most well known, Swedish international GK. Although he is currently out of favour at Roma and spent last season on loan at Cagliairi. Adding to that I read today that OLSEN has been linked to Villa, such lazy journalism. PS, I put your ignorance of European football down to Xenophobia.
  6. Copenhagen’s Denis Vavro was sold to Lazio for £9.5m in the summer with Robert Skov joining Hoffenheim for £9m. Both had been signed for a fraction of the cost just two years earlier. However Copenhagen have produced a conveyor belt of talent in recent times. Robin Olsen was signed for £630,000 and sold to Roma for £8.1m. In the space of a single season, Jesse Joronen was signed for £800,000 and then sold on to Serie A side Brescia for £4.5m. Hope this helps.
  7. Johan Lange - Sporting Director ASTON VILLA have appointed Johan Lange as their new Sporting Director - after raiding FC Copenhagen to headhunt one of the top talent finders in Europe.
  8. Already seen speculation that Bruno Lage (benfica) is set to take over. And so it begins. I do love all the speculation.
  9. Well done to villa, it was certainly an uncomfortable end to the game, in true villa style. This team needs major signings for next season to avoid a repeat of this season's trials and tribulations. 👏 Hoping for much more next season.
  10. Personally I thank DS for achieving something I thought impossible and that's keeping us in the premier League. But I still don't believe he is the man to take us forward and see us in a similar situation next season if he was still in charge. Exuberant scenes celebrating avoiding relegation, really is setting the bar low.
  11. I'd add a CM to that list to start alongside McGinn & Luiz, Hourihane is a good squad player but to push on we need better, imo.
  12. This cannot be good for our health. It felt like an eternity. Absolutely fantastic result to be going into the final game with our fate in our own hands, come on Villa don't let this go now, see it through and complete the job. 👏
  13. I'm going full Andy Williams, 'To Dream The Impossible Dream'.
  14. Watford were bottom and 7 points adrift when they appointed Pearson, just goes to show what a new manager can achieve. We have accepted relegation, without even offering a fight, utterly gutless and spineless club from top to bottom.
  15. After west ham and Watford wins today, we are 7 adrift with 12 to play for. Now completely out our our hands. Consider us relegated, great job DS.
  16. Pogba's first goal since April 2019. FFS. How are we back in the same mess AGAIN, squad is utter garbage.
  17. At least give Vassilev a run out.
  18. LMFAO, substitutions made when were 3-0 down. DS you are a genius.
  19. Yemen Yemen: UK to resume Saudi arms sales after humanitarian review I was appalled to see we will be resuming sales of arms (developed and produced at the tax payers cost) to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is using these weapons indiscriminately on the Yemen population (men, women and children) to murder innocent civilians. Whilst targeting food storage sites to stop the distribution of humanitarian aid to a starving populous. People are starving whilst food supplies rot because no one dare try to distribute the food. I would recommend anyone unaware of these atrociti
  20. A point would be unbelievable, unfortunately I can only see another painful day for the Villa faithful.
