  1. I agree here Freddy and this is why i refuse to blame Grealish's absense. He has no impact on their basic passing.
  2. Im of the same thought process. I have said it before, i think we are still 4-5 quality first teamers short. We have players currently in the starting xi who are decent squad players but thats it. I don't want us to get to far ahead of ourselves too quickly that ends up knocking us back 2-3 steps in the future.

  4. We are in real danger of letting a good season die out if we are not careful It was an awful game to watch where Smith once again struggled to change it when things weren't going his way mid-game. I can't buy that Grealish missing makes us unable to pass the ball from one player to another.
  5. Europe for me is an exciting prospect but thats it. I wouldn't be disappointed if we didn't get Europe. A top 10-12 finish would represent improvement which is all we can ask for. I do expect us to make a better show of ourselves in cup competitions next year however!

  7. First half we should have been 2-0 inside 10 minutes. I felt the midfield three did well until Barkley was introduced. Credit to Elmo, he handled Traore's threat very well for the majority also. As soon as Barkley was introduced, we lost something in the middle of the park. Overall, a decent point for a side in form.
  8. Wesley will no doubt be back in the squad by the end of the month. Wouldnt surprise me if Watkins went out wide.

  10. I didnt expect him to change. Smith doesnt change winning sides. Its one of his weakness' in my view. He tries to show loyalty instead of trying to change something to suite that said game. Smith is growing and learning with Villa. He is far from perfect but we can all see he has improved as a coach during his time with Villa alone. I just hope tactically and his decisions in game start to improve.
  11. So poor. Smith deservedly got credit for getting it right the weekend while tonight he got it so wrong. Nakamba was never the right player to play in midfield. It maybe worth tacking McGinn out also who has been just as poor as Barkley of late. The wide players - im starting to think are good squad players and thats it. El Ghazi and Traore blow hot and cold way too much
  12. A lot of hype around this lad. He travelled to Leeds with the first team last weekend also. Be interesting to see if we see him before the season is over.
  13. Jaden Philogene-Bidace has put pen-to-paper on a new contract with the club. The highly-rated forward has been in fine form for Aston Villa’s Under-23 squad this term, netting five goals and registering two assists in 11 appearances, and his new deal runs until June 2024. Philogene-Bidace, who turned 19 last month, has also been capped by England at Under-19 level, scoring a hat-trick in his only cap to date. Source: Link

  15. Such a great result and performance. I don't understand why Leeds felt so hard done by. They dominated and created virtually nothing. We have dominated sides, created loads and not took chances this year. There is a big difference with that. Targett could have seen red but so could Kilich. Smith deserves a lot of credit. He got his team selection and tactics spot on.
  16. I have to agree mate. Blokes a grafter. Wesley is back in training with the lads now so hopefully we can get him some game time with the u23's and see him back in action.

  18. I thought we missed Cash more than Jack to be honest. The first half we were awful. Only Watkins and maybe Targett could walk off the pitch at half time with their heads up. We were better in the second half and maybe a little unlucky to not come away with something. We need to learn to play without Jack so we can enjoy him more when he is there. I actually think Barkley could be done. His lack of high press is killing us - it makes all the work Watkins does redundant.
  19. Many saying hes not been on social media but neither have others. I just cant see there being this much talk about him if there isn't something in it. I think we will look better today because Leicester wont press high. Thats what we are struggling with. But they will look to exploit us on the counter-attack.
  20. We must stick with the team and believe in them like Jack would. They all wanted Europe this year so we need to believe in the rest of the team.
  21. Strong rumours that Jack has shin splints again..
  22. I am expecting a better performance from us for this one. Leicester will allow us to have the ball and look to hit us on the counter. I can't see them pressing us too highly which are the kind of teams we tend to struggle against.
  23. You would have to contact the club to find out.
  24. I always thought it was some kind of war game lol. Not sure how VP comes into it.
