The other way of looking at it is, yes we were sh*t today but west ham (a genuine mid-table team) could not beat us. We are nothing if we are not resilient .

what a game----all of em brill,---"Supa Jack" ran the show despite Ndoyes attempts to crock him, great atmosphere The Holte, in fact the whole stadium rocked-------Hogan worked his socks off, qualty shone through and won the day----2 cracking goals Jacks ball to Albert was sublime as was Hourihane,s chest down then volley------Villa wanted it more---great scenes on the second goal Hutton banging the badge on his shirt, and at final whistle possibly all 14 players involved applauding the crowd on the way to The Holte End----J.T. Jack Hutton Albert and Jack leading the celebrations-- well done Brucey,in what has been an awful week or two for you, well done You Villa Boyzzz-----another unruined weekend- will be soothing the throat with a wee dram or 3 of Jameson with 2/3 Guinness chasers, later tonight,. Everybody whinges and moans about terrorists and all the f**cking sh*t that 'some' muslims are threatening the world with and now somebody is trying to do something about it and he is called a lunatic etc. If the 'good' muslims are too scared to 'turn in' the 'bad' muslims then what are we supposed to do? He might not be the smartest politician, but he knows what the majority of peace loving people want and that is what he is trying to do. If you keep the terrorists out of your country then that is a bloody good start. We have gangs of Somalians running around Sydney and Melbourne beating people up and trying to form gangs like they had in their own country. It wont be long before bombing starts. Dont invite them in because they only want trouble.

As far as I'm concerned survival is the goal again, not league position. I'm happy being patient while the rebuilding happens and I'm not going to pop an anti-depressant after a loss, I'm convinced that our resurgence is going to occur quickly and it'll be down to the right signings rather than the right amount. Lambert is the man for the job, and if Lerner is being legitimately portrayed in the statements released about him not selling then he could very well be the right owner.

It wasn't the first time I've watched Man Utd dick us and I know it won't be the last, but it's irrelevant who we played, we were abject, again. United didn't break a sweat yesterday and neither did Liverpool, Newcastle, Spurs or Everton... We are absolutely dire and I'd argue that we've played just as badly as that in games against City and Southampton that we won. We've also played that badly against West Ham and Sunderland and managed to hold out for a 0-0. It's absolutely pathetic. When have we genuinely given a good performance this season? Arguably Chelsea... Maybe Arsenal, but it's worth remembering that we had two penalties and a break away goal against ten men that day. Yes we've had tough home games, but we've also failed to beat West Ham, Hull, West Brom, Sunderland and Fulham - All teams that I have marked down as "three sides worse than us". We've relied on lucky wins to paper over the cracks and when that luck runs out we'll be in trouble. We have absolutely no idea going forward. Our ball retention is sh*t, we don't create anything or look threatening. Not just against United, but against everyone. The only reason we beat Cardiff was Bacuna's free kick. There are loads of players who should be dropped, but who do we replace them with? Our squad is crap. There's no quality in our side at all. The most disappointing thing about yesterday is that the performance was exactly the same as we've seen all season. Dull, blunt, flat. As soon as we go behind we've had it because we all know that we don't have it in us to create anything to get back into the game. If my car wasn't blocked in yesterday I'd have gone at half time. The football, not just yesterday, but all season, has been just as bad as anything served up under McLeish. Stoke, Palace and Swansea... Hopefully we can scrape a win there somewhere to give us some breathing space. If not it could be a long second half of the season. We must be playing some of the worst football in the division?

a few lessons to be had---Jack lad this aint the Championship players are much sharper quicker and can disposess easily without fouling---you cannot linger on the ball in or close to our box-- Wesley needs to tuff up----collapses far far too easily---subs were ineffective Kodj caught dwelling too and Jota looked lost? but lets not forget Spurs were the 2nd best team in Europe last season-- 2 home games now and hopefully chance to get back to winning ways-- VTID--

Just been reminiscing, 37 years ago this very minute I'd have been an hour into the 60 hour session that was Rotterdam, we got back into Brum about the same time the final whistle will go on Monday....here's to another Villa victory though I could do without it being quite so nervy at the end. Have a great day all you that are going, if the semi is anything to go by me and my kids will be part of a large contingent of Villans lifting the roof off the George Tapps here in Bournemouth. UTV

i wondered how long it would take before some fans started to have a go at ds, ffs, this is not his team, he has not brought any players, he is still having to struggle with the crap he took over from the useless knunt sb left behind, give him a chance to do his own thing, then maybe you can judge him. you can train them, coach them, but you cant force them to do what you want them to do,, if you could there would no such thing as a good or a bad player. time will tell, but right now ds needs all the support from you that he can get.

Bristol City fan here with the local info for Friday week The bulk of the holiday season has been and gone now BUT the M5 from south of cheltenham can still get snarled up. So set out early if you can Coming by road use M4/M5 southbound to junction 18(Avonmouth) then follow signs A4 Bristol airport It looks the long way round but its quicker. Not a good idea to use M4/M32 YOU WILL GET LOST and its friday night rush hours Parking is normally in the streets around the area as long as you are there by 16:30pm please don't block drive ways or park on corners. Parking tickets were handed out for our last match against Sheffield United. Looks like train travel is NOT an option, unless your coming in from one of the stations in the Bristol areaIf you do use the train from where ever, please get the tickets issued to Parson Street as its push's up the footfall at the station although it is the same price as Bristol Temple meads Till Ashton gate halt comes on line. When you approach the ground from the winterstoke road direction I suggest you walk past wickes using the pavement as the concourse area behind the big new stand gets very congested with bodies UNLESS YOU WANT TO SEE THE JOHN ATYEO STATUE Split train tickets are available to Bristol from the London area as well as from Swansea/Cardiff area and group save is also availble on GWR trains, If there are at least three of you get a taxi from the Bristol Temple meads to the ground Make sure the taxi driver drops you in the Ashton Road end as it a very long walk round from the other end Casualty and Holby City were filmed in the City don't ask me about either of the programmes cos I think their both rubbish The young ones was also filmed in the BS7 area of the City(actually its Bishopston) Finally the block of flats on the left behind the dolman stand side as you are in the away end is "the" block of flats in "fools and horses" If your into your "STREET ART" there is loads to see in the Ashton area as we have just celebrated the upfest in BS3 Bring your camera and turn up early if you want to take any photo's Pubs possibly best one are in the cumberland road basin area novia scotia pump house and the cottage. Leave your car there and walk to the ground Buy your match day programme before you enter the away end. BBC Radio station is radio Bristol which has frequencies and 94:9 and DAB and 95:5. In 2017/18 3,106 aston villa fans visited Ashton Gateand the season before 2,551 villa fans made the trip I see the allocation this season is 2,700 and I don't think this will be changed A final reminder that there has been no pay on the day for any away fans this season or last season I don't think that will be changed,so please buy your tickets in advance Can you please circulate to other aston villa forums and message boards as well as other aston villa followers If you want any further local info, don't be afraid to ask.

So much for improving from Yeovil like Bruce promised. Players out of position again and lumping the ball against 10 men. So far both keepers look a disaster. An experienced championship keeper wouldn't have been hard to sign but so far the signs are we fecked up. We don't have time to wait for either keeper to improve. Unbeaten at least but serious improvement needed.

Right Dorset , first of all i respect your posts and always have done but i don't think we will agree on this. I think we have the biggest , best strongest and most expensive squad in this league , best because of what bruce inherited ( kodja , chester , adomah ,and grealish) , biggest because unlike other clubs in this league we have strength in depth and quality players we can call upon in all areas. . Strongest because bruce has been allowed to bring expensive quality players in on loan like john terry and sam johnstone , and most expensive because bruce spent twenty odd million on players last january , most of which now rarely feature in the first team. It is only now we are seeing the best of scott hogan since steve agnew arrived.... No one wants him sacked and no one wants us to play like Brazil , but what he have seen in 95% of the matches under steve bruce is the most boring negative football ever seen at Villa park in 144 years. . Now thats ok if we win 1-0 every week , but when we loose or draw the fans understandably get restless. Forget the stats of the last few managers ,,,,,,,,,,,we are now in the old division 2.not premier league. The 2 periods can't be compared. I personally am still backing bruce and have done for most of this season apart from when frustration and disappointments get the better of me , I think most villa fans are the same. But taking all things into consideration 4th in the league at the moment is certainly not a failure ,,,,,,,,it means we are under performing ,,,,,,,,,,,,we should be higher than that . Injuries or not , I dread to think how far we would be now behind wolves if Costa hadn't been injured , even when john terry was injured the only time we missed him was when the prat played jedinak at centre half and left elphick on the bench,, neither samba or elphick let us down during terrys absense in my opinion. Jack was a big miss but even before he got injured and even when he was fit bruce still had him on the bench or played him pointlessly on the wing . it is only the influence of steve agnew again that we are getting the benefit of jack played in his best position. Going on kodjas form this season he has been no loss at all , So to summarise the reason we are 4th is because steve bruce has held us back ,,,,,,,,we should be level if not above wolves ,,,,,,,,,,saying that , I am still confident we will get 2nd place and automatic promotion under him. then i hope we sack the c**t in the summer.

Injuries to key players, never able to field a fit full strength team, injuries causing a changed team almost every game and yet as the 2nd half of the season gets under way we are 7th and outside the top 6 on goals scored and 7 points off 2nd......am I convinced that we will go up after some lacklustre displays ? no, but I can see reasons to believe we could improve and even if we don't we'll probably be thereabouts.

Dr Tony Xia is making all the right noises and seems to be looking to make Aston Villa the cornerstone of Recon Sports who are the new holding company of a potential sporting empire!! I could focus on the negative but we need to look to the positives and embrace them as we have no other choice or impact on the situation. I know some have reservations and this is only natural due to the emotive issue that is the subject of the future of our Club. I for one now feel that Recon Sports have passed the EPL FAPP tests will give him and his appointments to the board my full and undiluted support in his attempt to relaunch us back to our rightful position in English football! I now have no concerns about the Football league ratifying the sale as they follow the same criteria in the tests as the EPL and it is IMO now only a formality!! We now embark on a new era and new vision for our great Club which will hopefully result in progress from where we are now! But make no mistake about it, the journey ahead of us is a hard road paved with challenges and obstacles which may take more than just one season to overcome, But we are on the journey together and we need to be united and also be reasonable on what we can achive in the short term! a major overhaul of the squad, a revision and change also needs to be effected within the dressing room also! Change takes time, but remember the fact that is undeniable "We are looking for progress, not perfection" bare this in mind and come together and we will be back!! Up The Villa, sh*t On The City and Better Dead Than Blue!!

Thanks dl for the advice which of course i'll take under consideration. I'm that far down the line of trying to use the system to my advantage and being a good little boy that I will await the outcome of the Ombudsman. However as you say there are other options to consider if I get no joy through the system and I will explore those when the time comes. It is dreadful however to have to even consider those when then it is such a cut and dried case but I guess that it the way society is going now. There is another option. I could rent my property to a real hard ass who will not take what I have and will fight fire with fire. That would also give me an independant witness if my neighbour repeats what she and her family have been doing to me. The location of my property is good (very close to all amenities of my town and still quite sought after). Even if it wasn't people have great difficulty in getting mortgages now and any rentals in our town are usually snapped up pretty quickly so that may be an alternative for me if all else fails?

Nope. If he was bought in addition to a Defour or something like that it would be one thing, but it's clear to me that Lerner will only sanction one buy. With that being the case, I don't want him either.......but I will support him if signed. He's not the answer to our problems. He could be the backup to our answer though.

My views on immigration are simple, until we have homes for our homeless, enough work for the unemployed, enough money in the pot to treat the sick and enough money for pensioners to keep warm in the winter then our borders should be closed, also we need to stop sending aid to other countries until we have looked after our own. Once this is all sorted then we can help others.

If anyone went to the villa for the first time today we would of lost them as fans. I don't expect to win every game but I do expect us to fight. Everyone goes on about the team spirit that lambert has installed well for the last month we have played like strangers. Really poor football.

First half is one that will live ling in the memory as one of the worst performances i have ever seen from a Villa Team, 2nd half we were all over em and deserved the win we could have got had Gabby not been off side! Lambert made errors in the first half but fair play he got it bang on in the 2nd period! lets face it, we did to them what they did to us last season! very happy with the point and on wards we go!

I felt the most inspired sub was the Delph one. Not that the other subs were ineffective. I just felt his involvement meant Westwood and El ahmadi could move forward to more advanced roles so much so that they both scored. Delph is easily our best midfielder, now all we need is another decent midfielder to accompany him, maybe even Bacuna.

i dont hate small heath as a club, it is good to have local rivalries, its just their supporters are a bunch of :wank2: they are scummy bullying pricks, fuking jog bottoms fake tops and shitty pendents, living in south brum all the local pubs are full of them, what a bunch of useless twats. a wise old man told me something when i was young that just about sums it up, if you can afford to go watch football you'll go down the villa, if you cant afford it, end up on the dole and being one of the dregs of society you'll end up going down small heath. how true he was.
  50. 1 point
So who wrote that rule anyway?? You ask anyone who's involved in football and they'll say that the england managers job is the biggest in football and it'll remain that way probably till fergie retires and the utd will be fought over. And another reason why english aren't arrogant and americans are. Who takes a language uses it then changes how words are spelt then tries to tell the country who invented the language they are wrong. ;) LOL
