What's the ground like?
The Stadium of Light is another new ground as it was only opened back in 1999. The stadium is a enclosed one and is viewed as one of the best in the country.
It has been said that you have to experience Sunderland as a City and the stadium to believe what a joy the place is to be.
Directions
From the A19 - take the A1231 (Sunderland North) turn off. After four roundabouts keep to the left hand lane and follow signs for B1289 (Roker).
Continue on this road and you will see the Stadium on your right.
Parking

There is no official match day parking from the club however we do understand that St Mary's car park is located on the ring road and offers safe car parking - in fact one of the safest car parks in europe, how? we are not sure.
However we have been told you must arrive early as it gets very busy. Pictures

Away Fan's Experience

The away fan is located in the South Stand of the stadium and allocated 3,000 tickets. Sunderland AFC warn all away fans that persistent swearing or smoking will result in you be ejected from the ground.
The Sunderland fans are very friendly people, and i have been told that this is a stadium that every football fan should visit. Views from the stands are excellent and they offer a wide variety of refreshments. Alcohol is also available from £2.60.
Where to drink

The Borough - The Borough is located next to the bus station and is well known for its cheap beer and its Jukebox. There is a 20p admittance fee.
The Palace - The Palace is a adult pub and have match day strippers. You will be denied entry unless you are smartly dressed.
The Albion - The Albion is located ten minutes walk from the ground in Southwick. There is often a mix of both home and away fans and there is usually a lot of friendly banter. You wouldn't expect any different from geordies though would you.
