What's the ground like?

Madejski Stadium is a fairly new stadium, only being built in 1998. And it even boasts a hotel on the back, just in case you don't fancy the journey back home.

The stadium is a little on the small side but is enclosed on all four sides and was recently voted the best stadium in the country for disabled supporters.

There are plans to expand the stadium up to 38,000 and work will commence in the summer of 2008 and will take around 2-3 years to complete.

Directions

If you are traveling along the M4 from the west you can see the stadium on your left. Leave the M4 at Junction 11, bear left on to the A33 relief road which leads you directly to the stadium.

The Madejski Complex is well signposted from Junction 11.

Parking

There is a car park at the ground and at the nearby speedway /greyhound track , both of which cost £7 They hold about 2, 5 00 cars between them.

However if you do not arrive in good time before the game you may find that they are already full.

Away Fan's Experience

The away fan is located in the Fosters Lager South Stand and are usually allocated with 2,100 tickets. However, this can be increased to 4,300 if required.

Away fans can make a lot of noise in this stand and the stand is known for its great views and leg room.

Where to drink

Due to the small amount of pubs located around the ground Reading allow away fans to drink inside he stadium where you should expect to pay around £2.80 for a pint.

Otherwise there is a Harvester around a five minute walk from the stadium but this usually gets packed so arrive early or head straight to the ground.
